Excellent!!!! Better than new. Great communication with sell. I would recommend this book to anyone who is thinking about getting and animal. This book is also EXCELLENT for teachers, parents, CEO's...everyone and anyone who is dealing with people. The training and understanding for animals is also great for adults to train children. May sound crazy but, I found it extremely helpful in all situations.

Karen Pryor was among the first behaviorists to take a positive approach to training animals (and children and spouses!). The beauty of clicker training is that you must understand your subject and work with them. Domination is out, understanding your subject is in. In the end, you will have a happy, well-mannered animal that isn't scared of you.

The hardest part of this for most people to understand is that IT TAKES TIME AND PATIENCE. There are no easy, quick ways to train an animal; you must make a time commitment and kindness commitment. That's what clicker training emphasizes. But the results you get with your subject really stick.

What I found particularly helpful in the book is the extensive use of examples and tables with examples. You don't have to wonder if you understood the concept because the examples are so good and clearly explained; they back up and support the descriptions.

The book is relatively short, but packed full of information. It's the classic clicker training reference book. I have read and re-read it, it's that enjoyable.

This book is a very helpful learning and teaching tool. I purchased it to help me train my dog, but it has help from dog training to having you teenager pick up after himself. I highly recommend this book to anyone who needs help with the pets and the humans in their lives.

This book was recommended to me by someone doing wild animal AND marine mammal rescue and training. I am told it is the Bible for training Critters of all kinds, including you, your own, and any animals you want to change the behavior of. If you want to know how to train for best results, this is the book for you.

I like that it contains principles that have been tested that can be helpful to others as they read it. I bought it because my Professor chose it for teaching the class I am taking. If I could make a suggestion reguarding what it contains, perhaps she could write a shorter version of this book for those who could get the most out of this book yet who don't have time to read that many pages. Then for those who would like to know more about the subject of learning they could then pruchase this book for further explaination...

Karen Pryor has a strong background in animal behavior with a variety of different animals and has built a huge business on very effective training techniques. At first I was skeptical that a child's toy clicker could ever be an effective tool in training dogs but she proved me wrong.

I purchased this book for my Golden Retriever dog. I had heard good things about clicker training and wanted to try it out. This book is informative though sometimes kind of wordy. I also purchased Clicker Training for Dogs with this book (same author) and it was short and sweet and very helpful. Great way to feel good about "disiplining" your dog.
