This book is among the very best in guiding parents how to seek the true "original design" for parenting and looking at the issues of the heart when raising children. I recommend this book to all young moms I come in contact with, as it hits the nail squarely on the head on so many issues of disclipline and the necessity of our roles as moms to not take this responsibility lightly.

Ginger does offer hints on handling all kinds of situations that come up, yet she presents what God says in His Word as the framework and the absolute in each situation. She uses scripture to back up how we handle each situation with our children, and encourages us to teach these truths to our children as we work through the issues.

I'm so thankful for this resource! You won't be disappointed with this "must read"...except maybe disappointed with yourself in how you might feel your lacking in certain areas, but you'll be encouraged to make a strong resolve and seek the wisdom of God to work harder at heart-oriented discipline.

This book really is the best $10 I have ever spent! This book cuts right to the reason why children disobey....sin in their heart! I think this book is easy to read and even funny at times. Worth every penny!

This book is full of advice to combine discipline with the truths found in God's Word. An excellent tool along with Shepherding Your Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp. Highly recommended!

A recommended book by an experienced homeschooler, I am homeschooling children that range in age from 5 to 14. I am particularly interested in the discipline of the children in a firm, loving and Biblical way. This books offers that.

I was struggling with discipline on my part with consistency. I bought the chart and the book by Ginger Plowman through a friend's recommendation. It is based upon biblical scripture on how God has designed for us to parent. All the advice is from scripture and she gives excellent examples about how to apply the verses. My parenting has gotten much easier since I was able to set the boundaries for myself through what God has set as standards of living on how to treat people, handle situations, and about our attitudes. This book is something I will keep and refer to often. I even outlined most of the important stuff so that I could find it easier. I recommended the Wise Words for Moms chart she created, even if you don't purchase the book. Nothing beats scripture for training your children!

I think this is an excellent tool for single mothers who desire to discipline their children that will honor the Lord. One thing that it does lack is the husband/father's role in the discipline and how he is the main person that discipline the child. But if there is no husband/father then it's a good start for single mothers.
