Don't Kiss Them Good-Bye by Allison DuBois (2005, Unabridged, Compact Disc)

I first found out about Allison by purchasing her second book "We Are Their Heaven". Having never seen the TV show "Medium", I had no knowledge of who Allison was except for being interested in the topic of life after death after the loss of a close friend's daughter and also my oldest brother. This book was AMAZING! It made me feel so much closer to knowing that the loved ones in our lives never leave us, they are just in a different form. There is still the possibility of communicating with them, we just have to raise our awareness of how they have to reach out to us through different means. I absolutely recommend this book to anyone on this journey. What made it so much more meaningful is that it is read by Allison herself - you absolutely get to know who she is as a real person, and she definitely has a beautiful, wonderful gift to share with those willing and open to accepting it. I have to say that I am a HUGE Medium fan, and I genuinely respect what the real Allison Dubois does as well. That being said, this audio book was truly horrible. Laughably horrible. That is not an exxaggeration since my husband and I both laughed hysterically when we heard it narrated. You see, this book was narrated by THE Allison Dubois, and bless her heart; she is NOT an actress. In fact, she has one of THE most monotone voices I've ever heard. In any case, I finally gave up by disc two because I truly couldn't take any more. Its a true shame too, b/c I think she would've had a lot of interesting things to say. My suggestion is: buy the book, but DEFINITELY skip the audio book.

I really liked this book. I believe in an idea of life after death. And I believe that spirits are sometimes with us. Allison DuBois gives an inside view of what her life is like as a Medium. I think it is awesome that our loved ones are always with us and sometimes can communicate to us when we need them. Anyone who has lost a friend or family member to death can find comfort with the knowledge from this book.

I thought this book was an insightful, interesting look at one woman's coming to terms with a "gift" she knew she had as a child, but did not know what to do with. I look forward to more indepth information about her life and those around her in her next book! Overall, a very good beginning, I think!
