This Is One CD that Should Have Stayed In the Studio

Let me say from the start, that I am a Jeff Dunham fan. I have repeatedly watched his DVD's and laughed every time, which is why this CD is such an enigma and disappointment. From the first track I kept thinking: eventually this thing is going to produce the old Dunham charm; unfortunately, it did NOT.
The song content was okay, although I got the impression that Dunham hurried the album out of the studio "just in time for the Holidays." The character voices are so indistinct that I had to keep looking at the album liner to tell who was supposed to be singing. I thought about the comedy bit when he talks about deaf people attending his show and began to wonder whether listening to his routines, instead of watching them, would produce the same confusion.
I suspect that some hard-core fans will argue that this recording is as good as anything Jeff Dunham has done, but I would suggest that he might have been further ahead to just have done the songs with "The Guitar Guy," in his own voice, as a Christmas parody album.
