This one is an okay release. Not as highly recommended as some of their others, but definently worth what they are selling for! Makes the collection complete!

Although a little more "poppy" than later releases, such as Some Kind of Zombie, overall it is a solid effort from start to finish. The song My Worldview with Kevin Max Smith stands out among the rest of the CD. A majority of the tracks, including Big House and Can't Take God Away, do not live up to the live versions that appear on Live Bootleg. An honest first effort, for serious fans only.

  potential is showing
Review created: 07/20/08

This rock disc is much more pop than many of their others and is targeting teenagers. It is positive and encouraging, creative and straightforward.
They speak against the persecution of believers in the public school system in Can't Take God Away, Public School, and Can't Censor Me. In some ways, they lash out at a music industry that typically gags Christians artists.
There are some classics here. Never be as Big as Jesus has a sweet bassline and We're a Band simply rocks. There are times when their experimentation with sound effects get annoying and their lyrics seem a tad trite. Their ballads are also hit and miss. There are times when they don't know if they wanna rock or dance.
California Kid is a weird original as is the provoking Scum Sweetheart. Their later releases are more mature lyrically and more musically coherent, but here their potential is obvious. They've ministered to many young people over the years.
RIP
