Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble (Super Nintendo, 1996)

This game is difficult because of Kiddie Kong, the baby that Dixie is babysitting. He can be useful, but Diddy was better in DKC2. You also have to unlock new transportation which can be quite time consuming. Good game though.

While the original Donkey Kong is still my favorite I absolutely loved this game! The characters are all so adorable and the game is just so fun to play! I play it now with my nephew and he really likes the older ones better than the newer versions. I highly recommend this game!

It is quite easy to understand why this game is just as good, if not better, for some players, than the original DKC and DKC2. This game has absolutely everything that is to be expected of a 3rd installment. For its time, this game was the benchmark when it came to video games. Even now, it remains a classic and is still in a leave of its own along with the first two counterparts.

Excellent gamplay once again from the Donkey Kong series! You unlock new modes of transportation in order to get to the other islands/pennisulas (really it is kind of a big lake surrounded by coast). The only new difficulty this game presents is in the new Kiddie Kong that Dixie is babysitting. He is more difficult to control.

Great Game. Graphics are great and has great game play, not quite as good as Dk 1, but still fun to play.

This game is great and still loks sharp compared to games made today. I miss games like this one. The super nintendo is such a great system.

If you're a fan of the first two Donkey Kong Country games for SNES...you'll like Dixie Kong's Double Trouble. The game in it's play is very similiar to its predecessors, but offers new characters and challenging levels. In short: It's a fun game!

I Love this game. Its levels are different from the normal blah of video games which keeps me interested in it. I love the vintage feel from the old school super nintendo game. I cant wait to play it more!

I bought Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble to complete my Donkey Kong Country Player's Choice Edition Set. I now have the complete trilogy for BOTH Game Boy Advance and Super Nintendo! Interestingly, about twelve years ago, I rented this game as well as Super Mario World (which I already owned), while I was on a two-week trip to visit my Grandfather who was dying of cancer. (My mom wanted me to have a couple of games to play to keep me happy.) I only had the games for about three days, so I hardly made any progress, but I remembered the music almost note for note, because at the time, it was very comforting. Also, Dixie and Kiddy Kong were so cute, and I had so much fun, that it helped me cope with the loss. This was my introduction to the world of Donkey Kong Country, and I remembered it: from July 1997 to July 2009..... talk about "Deja Vu". As a Christian, I feel I must give God the credit when I am provided with oppurtunities to revisit fond memories from my past. I may have been a little sad when I had to return Donkey Kong Country 3 to the rental store, but I'm so happy that I made this special purchase on ebay. I can now sit back, and play this game clear to the end, and enjoy the wonderful characters and music of this game whenever I want to!

Back with the 3rd installment to the Donkey Kong Country series, Dixie Kong and new friend Kiddy Kong are on a mission to stop K. Krool. In this adventure, K. Krool has kidnapped Donkey and Diddy and it's your job to set them free.

The game play is identical to DKC 1 & 2 (platform style). The graphics are the same as well. Not much is different from the first two other than the levels, bosses, and new bear family side characters you meet throughout the game.

I found this to be the most fun out of the DKC series. Kiddy's character brings back the tough, brut aspect that was absent in DKC 2. Be sure to always keep your eyes open for the dozens of secrets lurking around every level and overworld map. Try your best to get to 103% as fast as you can and see the alternate ending.

Hint: If you see rocks in the lake on the overworld map, they are there for a reason.

While this isn't the best in the series, that spot is reserved for Donkey Kong Country 2, it is by far the actualization of the first two games. There are more worlds, puzzles, and all around entertainment than ever with the option to once again play with or against your best friends.

The story does lack the hero named in the title. Donkey Kong and even Diddy Kong are both nonexistent in this version of the series. While this may be the case, the reprising role of small simian characters goes to Dixie Kong (for those familiar with Donkey Kong Country 2). Levels are much the same as in past installments, linear level running, jumping on enemies, sliding from vine to vine and blasting from barrel to barrel. Its what is expected from a classic Rare game and one from this series.

Bear in mind this is the original cartridge coinciding with the original console (for those that do not know). It was released in 1996 and any wear associated with its age is to be expected. The one I purchased did require some cleaning of the connectors in order for it to operate like new, so similar cases could manifest. With those points in mind I fully recommend this title as one of the jewels that was released during the SNES era of gaming. Its not perfect nor is it flashy by any of todays standards, but it is where gaming in 1996 was for those lacking a 64-bit system (namely the Nintendo 64).

I personally own all of the current generation systems at the time of this review (those being the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Wii). Despite the huge differences in gaming that has evolved in about a decade and a half, I still find myself returning to the Super Nintendo for the classic, nonchalant type of gaming experience.

This is one of the great classics, as old as I am (59), I still play these with my grandson who is fifteen.

This game got to me very quickly and was packaged very nicely. I would definately buy from this seller on any future items they may sell.

This game is everything I remember it used to be. Great trip back to childhood. Never gets boring. Re-doing the game in more detail was a fun was to pass time.

It was just as I expected, great condition. Love the poster, love the game even more. though out of 3 games i'd rate this own as my least favorite. still a great game though. I would love to get my hands on the other 2 though.

This video game is both fun and entertaining, while possessing qualities of challenging and confusing. However, overall, I would recommend it to all Donkey Kong 1 and 2 lovers...

Donkey Kong 3 is a follow up to the amazing Donkey Kong 2 that precedes it. The platforming is the same great style of the first 2, but the added features are hit and miss. First problem is they got rid of Diddy Kong, the best (in my opinion) Kong in the series. The new animals range from being quite helpful to plain out useless. Overall its worth playing, especially for 16 bit fans and fans of the Kong franchise.

I had this game when I was growing up and bought it to add to my collection of games because I missed playing it. Now I'm very glad I bought it because I finally had a chance to beat it. I recommend this game to anyone who has played Donkey Kong Country. It's an awesome game.
