Dog Bless America by Jeff Selis (2001, Hardcover)

This was much much better than I had expected. I loved meeting the individual dogs from each of our United States. The dog photos were different than the polished expert photos seen in many many books. BUT the author was using an old Polaroid Land Camera. You only get one chance to catch a good picture and I thought the photos were great.

This great little book is a pictorial journey across America in the spirit of Travels with Charley. Jeff, his friend Sean and his dog Otie embark on an odyssey throughout the 50 states to capture canine wondrousness of the extraordinary and the mundane in every one. The photographs vary from stunning to just OK, and are accompanied by witty and engaging bios of the dogs. From regular mutts to fabulous purebred superstars, the dogs of America are joyfully present in these pages to enjoy again and again. Dog Bless America.
