This book is huge and jammed packed full of interesting text and includes a few photos. Get inside the head of a very personal and private yet forceful and engaging man who led our country, the USA. Find out about his childhood and his formative years when he developed into this influential leader. A must for historians and even people in the service. It makes a thoughtful gift.

SCHWARZKOPF, GENERAL "Pop" led Lindbergh investigation
Review created: 07/20/07

GENERAL H. NORMAN SCHWARZKOPF

Gulf War General

He is the son of the WWII Vet

"...principal law enforcement officer who was involved ..."

"Pop" led Lindbergh kidnap investigation!

The account of his dad, Colonel H. Norman Schwarzkopf, former superintendent of the New Jersey State Police, who became the "voice of Gang Busters" an American crime series. (Chapter 1, pg 3)

In this book, the General takes the reader through his background upbringing as the son of a military officer, with cameos of his mom and dad, his college days, and his life-changing experiences in his days at WEST POINT. His recollections of his military instructors is awesome!

READ IT! IT'S TRUE ADVENTURE!

  It Doesn't Take a Hero
Review created: 03/07/07

I bought this audiobook for my husband, who enjoys military heroes. Yet, I myself, found the book to be one of my favorite autobiographies because of it's straight forward descriptions, truthisms, and the General's exemplary philosophies and behavior. Regardless of his humble title, he is truly a Hero of our day.
