Lets face it.... cars are a luxury, therefore an expense. The simple fact is, no matter how you look at it, even if your car runs perfect all the time, you still have to put gas in it to make it go. Expense! But who's car runs perfect all the time? If you have one, let me know so I can get one too! But honestly, at some point in time your car needs some attention. Whether it is the simple oil change, brakes, or something more difficult, wouldn't it be nice to do it yourself as opposed to shelling out a bunch of cash to have someone else do it for you? The Haynes line of repair manuals are perfect for the novice level and up do it yourselfers! Not only do they put the tasks in an easy to understand text, they use excellent photographs to accompany the written repair. Making this a extremely valuable asset to someone with a little motivation to save themselves some hard earned money!

I like the fact that they really take the car apart and did the step by step instrtuction. I wish they could sell it as DVD so we could watch the video instead read the book.

I've been using the repair manuals for 20 years. Haynes is the best I’ve found. The detailed step-by-step directions and clear photos has kept all of my vehicles on the road without the cost of "garage" labor. New cars can be intimidating with computers, but the manual takes the fear out it with clear detail on diagnosing the problem. Specicications for each part, like fluid capacity, torque specs etc. is all right there. The section for interior repairs is great. Older cars have screws that you could see and remove but new cars have hidden (plastic) clips that you can't see and I have broken my share. The manual tells you where the clips are and where to pry. It has saved me quite a few door and dash panels. The only part of the book I don't like is the electrical diagram section. This section has always seemed to lack the detail the rest of the book has. You have to really know what you're looking for in these sections and it seems to take me longer to find the wire in the book than to fix it on the car. With that said, I wouldn't lift the hood wiithout my manual close by.
