District B13 (DVD, 2006)

If you really enjoy action this is the movie for you. A cross between "Transporter," "Fast and the Furious", and a Jackie Chan movie. Its a low budget foreign french film that has some quite amazing stunt work and chase scenes. Some parts were slow/ hard to understand with the translation, but over all a good movie

At first I wasn't sure what to expect watching this movie. Great stunt work and action. The only troubling aspect of the film was that the poor were left to fend for themselves. This is a future movie based in the year 2010.

I just started getting into parkour a few years ago, and this was the perfect movie to just get the blood boiling. David Belle is a BEAST!

Saw it for free on campus.......had to buy it online when it wasnt offered at best buy or other places.
Lots of action, stunts, excited, nice music, and half way decent storyline.

The movie was awesome! I looking forward to buying the sequel, District B13 Ultimatum. This is a must have DVD and is one of my favorite movies that I have in my DVD collection. I had to have ths DVD the first time I saw this movie on Stars. I like the fact that the movie gets into the action from the start and does not let up. The parkour (sp?) was crazy where these guys are junping and flipping off walls is something I have not see from action stars in the United States. Great movie, get this DVD you will not be disappointed.

District B13, the newly-released 2004 French action flick, covers familiar ground, but with speed, style, and parkour. What the heck's parkour? It's the art of navigating urban spaces fast and gracefully, by running, jumping, and climbing, in order to overcome physical obstacles in the quickest and most direct manner. It was developed by David Belle, the stuntman/actor who plays Leito, an anti-drug vigilante who lives in District B13, a poor, crime-plagued Paris suburb (actually filmed in Romania) that's been walled off like a prison and left to rot by a government that's given up on it completely. There are no social services, no schools. Just slimy drug dealers and their street soldiers, warring over turf.

This is a fun movie to watch.

the movie was in excellent condition and the general film outline and acting plus action was great. l liked it and l am looking for the sequel.

After reading member reviews I figured I'd check it out. What an action packed movie! This movie is the meaning of action. Bruce Willis, Mel Gibson and even Jackie Chan, yes Jackie Chan have to pay homage to the 2 stars of District B13. The stunts are unbelievable and 90% of them are done without wires. Actual athleticism unrivaled nor surpassed by anyone. Dubbed in English, this film is excellent. Never seen stunts of this type. My wife a Jackie Chan fan, as am I, both were wowed by athletic the ability the 2 heroes displayed. A good team up. Do not pass this one up. One actor commented he was there and witnessed some stunts and couldn't believe it.
Extra features, though lenghthy and subtitled, are very good. Blooper/Gag Reel is ok. Do get this DVD it is well worth the time and money spent on it. It's extremely entertaining and pulls you right into it. Don't know how I missed this one's release in '06.

I like how fast I recieved the movie. The quality of the case and dvd was just like the seller said it would be. I got information by email when it was mailed. My brother has already watched the movie several times. I enjoyed doing business with this ebay seller.

Alot of action. Good story line. The english dubbed was not bad at all compared to most dubbed movies. All in all great simple action movie.

Too unrealistic too be true, nice acrobatic moves from the main characters. Plot is too simple so there is no thrill in this movie. Too predictive. Better rent it than buying it, Trailer was the best part. Don't look the dubbed version but the french one with subtitles. Ohterwise tough french guys sound like british fags.

This is by far the BEST chase scene on foot there is! Hands down! Very entertaining movie. Good plot!

This movie contains some of the most memorable action sequences in film history, its like a french version of the transporter mixed with the matrix

I ordered this movie for my son who is interested in Parkour and free running. He wanted it mainly to watch David Belle in action, but the movie (as a movie) far exceeded his expectations. After viewing it, he told me that it was "truly awesome". Now I guess I'll watch it too.

Ilove the wall to wall action! blows away american action movies! they go the extra mile! now the thug could have had a bigger car but other than that great job!

it is a great movie. It is in French with English Subtitles. the movie moves at a lightning pace with non stop action from beginning to end

I thought the movie was excellent. Great martial arts choreography to coincide with the story line. Wonderful service from the shipper. Fast and efficient.

What I like about this film is that it shows off Parkour, also known as Free Running, a method of transportation to get from Point A to Point B in the fastest way possible by utilizing your surroundings. The plot is great and the characters are enjoyable. Upon watching the 'Making Of' featurette, I look at District B13 as more than just a movie, it's a coming-together of talent and a fun experience that you feel a part of.
It is definitely a sleeper(awesome title not well-known) film that deserves more publicity. If you are into martial arts/action films and want to have your adrenaline pumping, this is a feature for you!

This movie is not just a top-notch foreign film, but a top-notch action film!

I didn't like French movies or even French people very much until I saw this. It spawned a charade of French titles in my netflix queue which i quickly depleted.

See it in the original FRENCH language with subtitles for a much better experience!!!

Maintains a fast pace throughout the movie, breathtaking stunts done without the aid of any wires. Lead characters actors perform their own stunts throughout the movie (think Jackie Chan).

This movie by Luc Besson features the guy who created Parkour, the stuff you see at the start of "Casino Royale", David Belle, and Cyril Rafaelli, the guy who fought Jet Li in "Kiss of the Dragon". The action scenes are awesome and well executed. The influence of movies like "Ong Bak" and many Jackie Chan movies are readily scene and the movie is bound to be compared to them.

This is a good addition to any martial arts movie or general action movie collection. The story itself is good enough and does have some important social commentary, especially when taken in the context of the notorious Paris riots and the fact that this is a French movie.
