Disgrace by J.M. Coetzee
I bought this book because it was required for a class I'm taking. It was amazingly well written (I would hope so though - it won a Nobel Prize in Literature), but it honestly made me want to throw up a couple of times. Coetzee doesn't sugarcoat anything in this novel, and some of the events in the book really got to me. That being said, the novel was an eye-opener for me, and I'd highly recommend it to even my close friends.
