This is the first of the Dirty Harry series and while good, was not the best of the series. CE improved the role as the series progressed. No real example of what I feel keeps it out of the "excellent" category - just an overall assessment.

This is a fantastic movie which depicts a man who knows how the system works and doesn't work. Clint Eastwood excels in his protrayal of Dirty Harry. He draws the viewer into his character in such a way that you begin to see the system as he sees it and you really want to do something about it. You know that you cannot change the system because of its "political correctness" and you soon realize that the criminal can easily manipulate the system because he understands the "political correctness" better than those who created it. Dirty Harry is well aware of the flaws and also manipulates the system to cause the criminal to error at which point he can administer proper justice.
I think it is a great movie because it demonstrates how easily we can lose control of our justice system because of city polity. I would recommend this movie as a must see.

Dirty HarryI bought a used DVD on ebay for $7.50 including shipping. This was $2.50 more than I usually pay for a DVD. I get most of my DVDs around %5.00 in the stores on their sale price. However, the quality of the picture was great and I watch all of Eastwood's westerns.

Dirty HarryI like the Action in this Movie. I like the guns and how people get clipped and the Mysteries that follow it. A pretty good Movie if you ask me. Yeah Don't Make Callahan Mad or you will be staring into his Magnum.

Clint Eastrwood is the unforgetable Harry Calahoun. He is given all the dirty jobs and lets the bad guy know he ain't getting away with it. A definite must see for all those Eastwood fans out there.

I collect Eastwood movies and this is the "must have" title. It's one to watch over and over again, probably the best of the series.Great action,San Fransico scenery, more great action. What else can one say,it makes you feel "lucky,punk."

Dirty HArryThis Dirty Harry wasn't as good as the others. But, its great to have in a collection. I think is was good. You can actually picture how all of them came together. It really hits the heart, it almost feels as if he really fighting crime in your entertainment system. I give it an A++++++++ in the great collections of 1of5 DIrty HArry movies.

A film script from the 1960s, came into hollywood, first into the hands of Paul Newman, he altered the script, through it back into the slush pile, several more actors looked at it, made their alterations, then finally in 1974 Clint Eastwood saw it, changed the script back to it's original script. Harry Guardino also stars, and a young Andrew Robinson who plays zodiac the killer. Clint Eastwood stars as Dirty Harry. Watch for the young and beautiful Rene Russo (thomas Crown Affair. Ransom). Harry, gets every dirty job that comes along. Harry doesn't play favorites, Harry hates everyone. He brutalizes and tortures suspects, he shoots everything. The winning smile and the coarseness: Do you feel lucky PUNK! In all this excitement I lost count in how many shots I fired...the ever growing Eastwoodism, of our time...We are fortunate to have Clint Eastwood as a Director and an Actor.
Great Camera angles, fantastic shots from around San Francisco. Other movies to see....Magnum Force, Pale Rider, and the spaghetti westerns by sergio leone. Any Eastwood fan, would love to have this in his collection.
