At first look you can see this vacuum cleaner is 100% top quality and very well made. It is not a self height adjusting cleaner. So you can choose how deep of a cleaning you want to do. I prefer it as I can now adjust it to a higher height and vacuum the bathroom and scatter rugs without sucking them up into the vacuum cleanr. The brush really grooms the carpet quite well. It has a seperate on/off switch for the all metal brush which is a great feature when it comes to cleaning bare floors and the scatter and bathroom rugs. The tools are wonderful and easy to use. You will however get a great aerobic work out as this unit is quite heavy. It would be nice if it had a self retracting cord.
The machine is a steal at this price as they discontinued the model as many people are opting for the ultra light units. My opinion is when it comes to cleaning and having a clean exhaust this unit is hard to beat and the price is the icing on the cake.

) Sorry to say this came to me in error.I bought an Oreck XL.It's working great.And an older model that really does weigh eight pounds.I prefer the standard handle it has over the ergonomic one.My big hands get cramped gripping the latter.Also the Oreck is very upright,works well for the posture.Especially if you are tall.Great on pet hair!
