I love the ease of use. Recording, scheduling, playback, and pause are so easy to use that they become second nature in no time. The only suggestion I have is that it close captioned when muted.

) The price was less than @ Directv. It was, however, a hassle w/Directv in getting it activated. The smart card that came with the receiver failed in the first week and I had to wait for Directv to send another one. This took about a week.

This may not be a fair review because I clearly got a defective unit. They DirecTV guy tried installing it and all we could get were highly pixelated images on all channels with a signal of 90+ on both sat lines. I think there are good things about this design. It runs cooler for example and has a bigger hard drive than our HR20.

HD/DVRIhave one of these and they are awesome.After having one you could'nt get by without it.The picture quality of HD is great and the recording options are awesome.Easy to navigate through the menu without any complications, it did'nt take my kids long to run the remote through the menu options & guide.

Directv HR22 500-Hours HD DVRReceiver works well and just today got it hooked up looking forward to more recording space.
Was surprised that it didn't have an input for my roof top over the air antenna as my older DVR did , but I suppose I'll get used to it.
Would recommend it,but, am looking forward to DirecTv and Tivo getting together again.
The ability to request a show in the " the wish list" outside of the DVR,s 2 week memory is missed by my family.
