Dinosaurs by Matthew Reinhart, Robert Sabuda (2005, Hardcover, Pop-Up)

I absolutely love this book. It's so well made and has amazing details! I am buying this book as a gift for my nephew and I can't wait to see him open it. He is going to love it. I am planning on buying him all the books in this series.

I bought this book as a Christmas gift for my 4 and 7 year old nephews. But after reviewing it and speaking with their father, we decided that they were much too young for it. Keep in mind, these are rawdy boys who can damage steel! So the book is now a part of my collection until they become more mature. I absolitely love the intricate details, and it is far superior to the pop-up books of my youth (80's).

Reinhart and Sabuda are masters of pop-up books. My son has two already (Castle and Wizard of Oz)and he loves them both. The pop-ups are very intricate and clever, but they have also held up really well after many hours of use. These make great gifts for any child (probably age 4 and up) and I would highly recommend anything they have put out.

What a fabulous book! It is informative and packed with facts about prehistoric earth, dinosaurs and even the people behind major archeological discoveries. The pop-ups (and there are so many of them!) are truly incredible with wonderful color and a tremendous amount of painstaking detail. I highly recommend this book for dinosaur lovers of all ages!

I was in the library with my son and above the shelf there were a couple of books by Sabuda and Reinhardt that caught my eye, my little one loves, loves, loves dinosaurs and underwater fish. There on the shelf sat these incredible books. I asked the librarian to see the books and she handed me the books and my face lit up. I knew that my little one was going to have an amazing reaction to the books and wished that I had a camera to capture his reaction when I handed them to him.

His reaction got the attention of the entire library. I opened the book and out popped the first dinasour, he started screaming, "Oh boy, oh my God, oh my God." I tried to shush him and the librarian said no let him continue turn the page and the library went up in laughter at each shriek from my son. These two books were not books that can be checked out, so I left determined to get him these books, but the book store prices were so steep.

I went to half.com and have told everyone I know about the site and how I was able to purchase the book from sellers at such amazing prices. I purchased with 3 thoughts in mind, looking for a seller with 99% to 100% feedback ratings and ones (if possible) that also had fast shipping and I did good.

When the books started to arrive, I was more excited than my son and brought them home to repeat more of the same reactions. Only this time I watched as my two boys, daddy and son, screeched and oohed in amazement.

I am a teacher and this book is a must for primary classrooms. Kids LOVE dinosaurs and the amazing way Reinhart/Sabuda put this book together would get any kid hooked on books! I love the way the author/illustrator incorporate ART with TEXT. The students in my class can't wait to WRITE about their own dinosaur drawings. I mean, how many 2nd grade boys do you know that get excited about writing???

I have two nephews ages five and ten and they love dinosaurs. What a fun pop-up book this is. The pop-up are so fantastic, colorful and exciting. Of all their dinosaur books this is the most fun with lots of information too. I also got it for a great price, worth every penny!

This book was incredible! Better in person then you can imagine. Each page has a number of fantastic suprises, the 3-D pop-ups are very durable, and it contains wonderful information. I bought the book for my nephews birthday because he is a huge dinosaur fan and has everything imaginable dinosaur, and even he was very, very impressed!

This book is a must for any Dinosaur lover or even the pop up book lover. The pictures in this book and the pop up are amazing. We cant wait to buy the Shark book as well....

Fascinating and fun book for kids, but I think the adults will love it just as much as the kids will.

If you are a lover of pop-up books, this is the one to add to your collection! The pop-up features are varied, very precise, the colors are superb, and the accompanying text is very informative. I would NOT buy it for young kids......

This is an exceptional book by Robert Sabuda and Matthew Reinhart. Like the other pop up books by the pair, they continue to delight you with their skillfully crafted creations. The colors, shapes, and 3 D effect will appeal to the artistic side in you, while the well written information on dinosaurs will appeal to your intellect. The pop ups are delicate and you will need to help a couple of them to close back properly to fit in the page. The names of the multiple syllabled dinosaurs are a mouthful and if you master pronouncing them, you are half way in your education about these creatures that roamed the earth millions of years ago.

Bought this book for my 3 year old who loves dinosaurs and it's really a great book -entertaining & informative-even for an adult.

My 5 year old daughter is obsessed with dinosaurs, and I have two other pop-up books by Robert Sabuda with which I am very pleased , so I figured this one should be pleasing as well. I was not dissappointed. The pop-ups are so intricate and detailed, it's as if the dinosaurs are coming right out of the book. Every page has numerous fold outs which contain pop-ups as well, making what seemed to at first be a short book an appropriate length for a child. The text is a bit too advanced for my daughter, but the pop-ups are more than adequate in explaining the book. Combined with our interactive conversation on the subject matter, this is truly a winner. You will not be sorry!!

Great book! I just love Sabuda's pop-up books. They are amazing and as interesting for adults as they are for chilren.

This book is excellent for any age. It's just wonderful how the authors put so much substance into each page. The distinguishing way these two make the book pop-out at you can not be compared by any other writer. The Dinosaurs are big and small with a detailed description of each one.

This book was purchased for my 7 year old daughter, who was working on a dinosaur project for school at the time and became an instant dinosaur lover, as a Christmas present. The book is incredible and destined to become a family heirloom. Each time you turn the page, a major pop-up comes up from the center, and there are smaller pop-ups along the sides of each page as well. Some of the smaller ones are almost a book within a book! The pop-ups themselves are incredibly detailed and intricate, and absolutely amaze anyone who sees them. I would not give this to a young child under 7 years of age, as the pop-ups are delicate, and you definitely want to keep this book for a long time! The accompanying facts about dinosaurs are well-written; extensively researched yet presented simply. The antiqued hardcover is even beautiful! Absolutely perfect, I highly recommend it to anyone interested in dinosaurs, and not relegate it only to children.

I bought this book for my wife who has an extensive pop up collection. She is an elementary school principal and uses the books regularly. Sabuda is the best there is in the field. This example is right up there with the best of his. This one is particularly special since we just had our first granddaughter and she will know that this is the first pop up we got for her.

I absolutly loved what I got when I purchased this book! The pop-ups are more amazing than I have ever seen with incredable detail. My friends son absolutly went crazy for this book at Christmas!
