Worth reading for the pickle making facts and recipes alone! I had a great time remembering summers pickling cukes with my mother and grandmother! McQuaid becomes a PI and is hiding his new line of business from the ever "helpful" wacky Ruby. China and Ruby are busy on the Pretty Pickles committee an after Phobe who single handledly turned the family pickle business around goes missing, there is a dilly of a time finding her. As Phobe micro-manages the upcoming annual Pickle Fest and it is fast rolling around, people frantically search for Phobe who may or may not have disappeared with her new toy boy. When he shows up apparently shot by his own right hand (when he is left handed) in an old quarry, will Phobe turn up pickled? Who had the motive, opportunity and kahuna's to but Phobe in the ... well, read the book to find out. This is a great read.
