I THINK ALL THE "FOR DUMMIES" BOOKS ARE PRETTY WELL DONE. THEY USE HUMOR TO HOLD YOUR ATTENTION. THIS BOOK IS ESPECIALLY GOOD FOR BEGINNERS I THINK. I'VE BEEN DOING THIS AWHILE BUT I ALSO READ SOME TIPS AND IDEAS I HADN'T THOUGHT OF OR HAD THOUGHT OF IN A DIFFERENT WAY. I'M ALWAYS LOOKING FOR GOOD IDEAS. THIS BOOK HAS SOME.

This book full of useful information presented in an easy to understand way.Perfect for someone like me who wants to take great pictures but is not a pro photographer.

I thought this book was very informative and has definitely has help my understanding of my camera and photography in general. After reading my camera’s manual I still didn’t know what certain features were for or when to use them, this book gives those reasons and the pro’s and con’s for using or not using a particular feature. It also goes in to file format and editing. A must read for any beginner maybe even a good refresher for experienced photographers too.

Has a lot of up to date and pertinent information. I recommend this book for anyone who is not a professional photographer and would like to get the most from their DSLR.

I needed additional knowledge in photography due a new camera upgrade DSLR. I turned to the "Dummies" book as my past experiences with them were very good. I was NOT disappointed. The book is well laid out and follows a common sense pathway threw out. All technical drawings are very clear and precise and easy to understand for the novice photographer.
Photos published in the book are there for a specific reason and are well explained as the examples they represent.
I highly recommend this book for anyone seeking to improve their knowledge with Digital SLRs and to gain a better understanding of digital pros & cons. it explained clearly and concisely all terminology related to photography both digital and film. The text in this book is an easy read interspersed with humor of which the " Dummies " books are known for. The price on this book varies from shop to shop and used versus new. I purchased a new copy as I know I will use it for referencing in the future.

Love the book! Easy to read and gives step by step on how to do things. Keeps in mind that I am new at this and motivates me as I read. This is a must have for anyone starting out in this field or for someone with years of experience and needs help in some areas.

i think i should have bought the first edition. i never thought that what i bought is the second edition. i want to learn the most basic...but i still think this book is still helpful.

I loved this book. but why did they say it was for "dummies"??? I found it to be quite intellectual. If you were a dummy you def wouldnt understand this book, it wasnt anything you need your masters to understand but you do need some type of understanding with slrs. but other than that i found the book to be quite useful. I liked how at the end it gave you editing tips

Very informative, it explains everything in simple easy to read chapters. I have learned more in the last week than I had in the last 4 months of owning a DSLR camera.

This is really a very nice book. I bought it for my son as a Christmas gift and he is enjoying it along with his new camera. I bought this book because all of the "for Dummies" books are well researched and bring great results. I also was happy to find the book on half.com at a fraction of a price.

Book has helped me undertand digital cameras and taking pictures. I recently bought what I thought was a DSL but was the next best thing and this book has helped me learn not only about my camera but very helpful with photography language I did not know much less understand. It explains thing in a way that anyone should be able to understand and use.
