This was a book I purchased as I began to build my home studio. I am not a novice by any means, but have been away from the recording scene for a number of years. Jon Chappell's (Editor) work is a great primer for those who want to understand what they are attempting to accomplish before they spend the money! The writing, though technically based is not "over the head", and the tips and tricks are both practical and germaine to the endevor. The book was also honest in the assessment of equipment needs, and savvy in the reminder that things are changing technically, even as the book was being written. I am very pleased with this purchase!
