Differential Diagnosis for new clinicians
I bought this to help with patient evaluation in a free clinic after many years as a specialist. It is not encyclopedic, but covers 50-odd common presenting complaints. It does a good job of presenting the differential dx in a logical aet of descriptors: onset, location, severity, duration... There are useful tables, drawings and 58 color pictures in the Derm. section, as well as index. Not as comprehensive as "Problem oriented Medical Diagnosis" but not intended for inpatients as much as for 1st contact encounters in an outpatient setting, IMO. A good book for entering clinicians. Orthopedic exam is particularly well done. No treatment advice, just differential diagnosis, and well done.
