The Different Story (World of Lust and Crime) by Peter Schilling (CD, Apr-1989, Elektra Entertainment)

What do you want? It's 80's music sung in English by a German dude. YES I KNOW MAJOR TOM'S FANTASTIC. Given. However it is a total anomaly on the disc. If it's the only way you can find the arorementioned track, it's still worth it.

Like most reviewers I bought this CD because of the amazing Major Tom. Some of the other tunes are good but nothing comes close to Major Tom's brilliance. If you are a fan of most 80's new wave you should enjoy this...just don't expect a flawless masterpiece. It's a bit hit and miss. 3 Stars.

Is this artist a futurist, or what? Heard 'Major Tom' used in a car commercial, and knew I needed the rest of the songs. In addition to being GREAT sound, Schilling hits RIGHT ON with the way the world's political, environmental and socioeconomic condition would be like 19 years later. Yeah, it's sorta coming true. When you get a CD with a couple of songs you like it is great, but when ALL tracks are excellent it is a major FIND.

I bought this CD for one song and it was well worth it. I had completely forgotten about Peter Schilling (from the 80s) and then one evening while out with my husband, we heard it played in a restaurant. The song is Major Tom and it really a great CD to listen to while driving. The chorus is haunting. EBay is great for finding forgotten artists and songs. The CD was new and in perfect condition.
