Died in the Wool" is a new mystery series by Mary Kruger, but you don't need to know how to knit to love this book!
Ariadne Evans owns the knitting store called Ariadne's Web. Ari enters her shop one morning to find the dead body of her longtime customer, Edith Perry. Edith was strangled by some yarn, homespun by her best friend, Diane. This makes Diane and her husband prime suspects. Ari is questioned by detective Josh Pierce, who she feels may have some designs on her. While Josh goes about piecing together the crime and clues a bizarre pattern begins to unfold. Ari knows that her best friend is not a killer and so she does some sleuthing on her own without stepping on anyone's toes. She plans to untangle this mystery before it gets to snarled up. Can she be as crafty as the killer?
Ms. Kruger is also the author of the Gilded Age mystery series and an avid knitter, so she knows what she is talking about and she writes a wonderfully colorful mystery. I can't wait until the next book and I don't knit!
