Reading this book ( DIABETES the GlucograF method for normalizing blood sugar = ISBN number 0517541556 ) gives you a rather complete insight into the significant effort put forth by Dr. Richard Bernstein to unravel the "mystery" that diabetes was and still is to so many in the medical community. My hat is off to this 'living legend' ( Dr. Bernstein ) in the field of truly effective diabetes management. Most of the equipment detailed in this particular book has long-since been updated and improved, but, if you want to take a peek inside the mind and actually see the lengths and determination that was required of Dr. Bernstein to seperate the "wheat for the chaff", then this is a good place to start. Dr. Bernstein's efforts could quite literally be described as "Herculean". His two more current books .... " Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution: The Complete Guide to Achieving Normal Blood Sugars = ISBN number 0316099066 " .... and .... " Diabetes Diet = ISBN number 0316737844 " should be "required reading" for anyone trying to get a grip on a 'diabetic lifestyle'....if diabetes has you 'running in circles' then you should absolutely, most definitely buy his two most current books ....I cannot suggest them more highly !
