DiRT (Xbox 360, 2007)

First off, the career mode looks like it will take a great deal of time, which is what I look for in a game. There are about a dozen "tiers" in a pyramid shape, which you progress higher and higher as the game goes on. The gameplay is great. Surface affects driving sensitivity. The sound is alright, but sometimes it sounds like a jet engine at an airport. Graphics are spectacular and the crashing is pretty. Online is very fun, comparing your skills to everyone else in the world in the leaderboards. A great game to pick up for every XBOX 360 owner!

I love the graphics of the game...
I never like crashing and rolling before , but with 1080p and 5.1ch is not horrible anymore , you will see all the parts getting damaged and flying away, so detailed that will almost make you feel it.

The way the car handles is very sensitive , this is by far the best simulation that i ever played.
The career mode is very complex , and you will have to work your way up the brackets , keeping you busy for a while.
I havent played multi-player much.

It's so fun, i especially love the 4wd races and i also like the big rig races. It's a better game than i expected it to be. A++++ Racer thanks Colin Mcrae!

If I had to imagine how it would be to race the various off road and rally cars this would be it. Kind of tricky at first to get the hang of the corners and braking, but after that its a real blast.

Great game, and even better if you can get the still $60 game for $25-30 bucks here on ebay!

This game has one of the best looking graphics of any game I have played on xbox 360 (Ive played alot) Even my old lady agrees she is in owe while its playing. Like stated before it looks like it will take forever to complete the career mode but it is not too long... In the game the player is able to select between a large range of vehicles (Normal 4x4 trucks, Dune Buggys all the way to Big Rigs) All in all a great game and a MUST play for a racing game guru!!!

As a current co-driver of a class 10 offroad racecar, I have to say this is the best game I've played yet. The way you can setup the vehicle on the corners is awesome, just like being in a real CORR race. After a race, I like watching the replay video almost as much as watching Bajaflo or DP4 or DP5. After seeing the previews of this game, I decided to buy an Xbox360. I've got several other games that are collecting dust because I can't stop playing DIRT. If you don't have it, BUY IT!! Well worth the money. Not as easy as some other games like MX vs ATV so it actually takes some skill. But, once you get the hang of it, watch out!!

I like racing games. I like off road racing games. I like DiRT. It's fairly simple really.

There are a few issues, but overall, it's a great game. I love the variety of cars, everything from small slow FWD to huge AWD trucks (seriously, as big as an 18 wheeler) and everything in between. The tracks are fun and the career lets you choose which race you want to do next, letting you concentrate on your favorite types of racing (normal rally, hill climb, rally cross (lots of cars at once), etc).

There are two things I do not like about this game. 1, there is no split screen. 2, there are limits as to which track you can race the cars on. I love the huge trucks, but you cannot race them on the small buggy tracks, which I think would be a lot of fun. You also cannot race different classes against each other. Sure, it wouldn't be realistic, but I think it would be fun. If you fix these two problems, I'd give it a 5. It's still my favorite racing game on 360 however, and I've played most of them (yes, I like it more than Forza2).

Other than that, superb graphics, and handling that is between arcade and simulation.

In the end, it's fun.

Man, this game is very good. Takes rally to the next level.

Dirt is a great game that is very close to real when it comes to off road racing. I work on one of the race tracks in my home town and its almost exact on the game as it is to the track in real life. lots of detail. if you like off road racing this game is a must

Dirt was an average game. I feel they could have made more tracks to race on, it felt very repetitive. The graphics were not eye popping although maybe 1 or 2 tracks in the countryside and in the mountains were pretty cool. The cars were also just average. Some cars were nice others looked like 1980's crappy box cars.

The idea of playing and doing. i hate in the game how with the sunlight and how it seemed like it was overly done with it flashing when you went under trees ect. but i found that it is that bad in real life. took my gt4 out today and learned how hard it is on some of the roads near my town. the game is more for the arcade but is setup to be played at home.

excellent video game simulation, lot of fun and realistic cars.
if want to experience the off road races this is the game you need.

i liked how really the handling of the game was, the only thing that i didn't like bout the game is that you can't build a car from the ground up. but all and all it was fun , challenging and took some skill. good graphics is another plus to this game

Coming from the now ancient PS2 to an Xbox 360 I was excited about the plethora of games that Sony didn't have syndicated for their painfully expensive PS3. One such game I had a lot of hope for was Dirt.
It definitely was not disappointing. In my opinion, for a relative opinion point, Burnout Paradise was disappointing. Dirt was no where near as poor. Dirt is definitely for the avid rally enthusiast, if your into road racing or just looking to thrash a vehicle this is not the game for you.
The voice of Travis Pastrana can be excessive at times when your simply ready to race and he seemingly just keeps talking. In racing it can be somewhat "tight" as in if you go off course you are put back on course as if an early Sega game. This and some other features of the game become sort of juvenile for the older gamer but in general only irk you for a moment and don't necessarily ruin the game.
Overall I would recommend the game, it's definitely fun to pick up and play but not easy to sit and race for hours like the Forza series.

DIRT is great. I love the different driving veiws available, you rly feel like your in the car and it gets pretty intense. The game is very immersive which is what rly makes it so much fun. The graphics look very good with detailed tracks, nice car models and good lighting ( although some tracks the lighting is too bright and you can't adjust it. ) also the car models will show damage through out the race and the car even gets dirty over time on the car which is always nice to see. The car handeling is great and can be adjusted to your liking, I wish it had a feature that let me hire a mechanic to tweek my car for me. But on my own I was able to make a few adjustments that improved my previuos times. You will need to repair any damage you cause as you bump, jump and wind your way through the well designed tracks, but the game should have made it so in addition to tweeking settings and repairing damage you could also upgarde the car with your winnings through out the game with more customization like forza 2. The carrer is long but for me it seemed like it could have "flowed" better rather that just one race after another. The online play only lets you go up agaist others time but it is still fun and actually allows you to concentrate on the track more instead of if some guy is going to brake short or run you right off the road. But racing with other ppl on the track has its place too and you won't get that online in DIRT. The online is fun but this is another area the game could be better. Overall I recommend DIRT, it does alot of things rly well like the solid graphics, physics of the car while driving or crashing, and the intense and immersive camera veiws make this one of my favorite racing games. But with room to improve the career, online and car modding which were all quite bland. I give it a solid 8.0

Dirt is Very possibly the BEST rally racing game ever! I've had it for 7 hours so far and i cant stop playing it! The only thing is, is that it doesn't have a split screen mode so it doesn't allow you to play head-to-head on the same Xbox 360(Thats why i only gave this game a "Good" rating). But besides that this game is choice.

it's a pretty decent game. it's realistic in the sense that if you crash hard enough, you're done. you can modify almost everything to do with the cars performance, depending on the track. mud to gravel to dirt to pavement. take a turn to early and roll your car. i just can't wait til dirt 2.

It was a great game! took some time to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, then it rocks. i cant wait to get to the levels with the dune buggys

This is best, most realistic racing game. I strongly recommend it. Multilayer is not that great since you can't race side by side by single player rulez .
