Devilishly Funny & Unintentionally Factual!

When I first chose to read The Devil Wears Prada, I had no clue what a faantastically funny book this was going to be. What is even more ironic, that I could see many similarities to at least one former female boss but to several co-workers as well!
Miranda Priestly reminded me very much of someone I once reported to. Looking down her nose with disdain at everyone else, not interested in one's personal life. Oh No! Don't even think of having a life outside of your job/career! That is simply not acceptable. Running "Ahn-Dre- A's rear end off with personal errands, finding fault with everything, non-stop criticisim & little praise & no thanks at all.
The Devil Wears Prada is so believable, you'll find yourself wanting to grab Andy Sachs & shake her & say, "WAKE UP! THIS IS NOT WORTH IT!" Andy Sachs is every young woman with her mind set on career goals. It isn't until she is forced to choose, a career that could skyrocket to greatness, with all golden doors opening or following her heart and realizing that a long-time, much valued friendship is more important than anything Miranda has to offer her. Is it worth giving up her soul not to mention her sanity & her conscious?
In the end, Andy does what very few people have ever dared to do. Stand up to Miranda in a big way & tell her in no uncertain terms what she thinks of her! And very publicly too!
Read the book first! Then see the movie! This one is worth repeating!
