Developing the Leader Within You by John C. Maxwell (2000, Hardcover, Revised)

You aren't born a leader, you are made one. This book exposes the difficulties faced in becoming a leader and how to overcome them. There are laws of leadership and strategies that are addressed here, and Maxwell shows different perspectives of challenges and how to work through them (you won't get lost). This is a "deep" book ... and the more humble you are, the faster you become a leader. The workbook goes hand-in-hand with the book, and is almost as thick as the book. You will refer to this set many times. You will be really pleased, and your faith will increase in the same time. May God bless you mightily as a positively influential leader.

I have this book have read and it is an excellent book guiding you in Leadership. John Maxwell's books are always good. This was for a class at Purpose Institute. The book is in excellent shape and was received in a timely manner, no problems.

I bought the book because it is my intention to grow my organization and in order to do that I need to grow as a leader.

It is a definite must read for any person in a leadership position or wanting to be in a leadership position.

I bought this for my Leadership Development Program at UC Berkeley. Some of the information just seems like "common sense". It will be a lot to remember to put into action into the future, but a good thing to read to inspire growth and change. Easy to read.

this book teaches that to be a great leader, you must first be able to lead yourself. lead by example and practice what you preach. there are many qualities people look for in a leader so you have to work on yourself first and people will then naturally follow... you gotta read this book!!!

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to improve their leadership skills in all walks of their lives. It will become a reference book in developing your communication skills as well. I have purchased this book many times for gifts. If you're looking to self improve this is the book to read.
