I'm a major Sheryl Crow fan, having collected all published and many unpublished discs over the years. I've listened to Detours a couple of times through now, and while a few of the tracks rock, there is a thudding plainness that can't be overlooked. I'm hoping that with time, I'll grow to love this disc as much as the others, but for now, its unfortunately not made it into heavy rotation.

I'm a huge Sheryl fan. I don't think this is her best work. I actually skipped a track - if you can believe it - because it sounded like whining (Diamond Ring). Hope her next CD is better!

Not quite what I expected. I love most anything she does, but this isn't quite what I thought she would put out. Some nice tunes. Some slower songs, I was hoping for a more upbeat album.

Musically it's really good. Some of the lyrics rub me the wrong way. I'm still listening to it though. I happened to be listening to it when requested to write this review. I'll add it to my Sheryl Crow collection. We'll see how often it's pulled out compared to the others. I suspect I'll pull Tuesday Night Music Club more often (or exclusively).

This is a great album in the continuing tradition and style of Sheryl Crow. Music and Lyrics are well balanced. The song selection is emotionally tied to this time period in her life which makes the songs more real.

Every song on this album is fantastic. Sheryl Crow shows her outstanding talent in her latest collection. My favorites are: Peace Be Upon Us, Gasoline, Motivation, Make It Go Away....but each song is creative and enjoyable.
I highly recommend this!!! I loved it so much that I bought one for myself and bought it for 3 of my closest friends.

Well I love Sheryl Crow so I figured I would also love her newest CD, Detours. Oh my gosh was I wrong! I tried my very best to listen to the whole CD but it was just simply awful. My husband won't even let me have it in the car anymore because it is torturing to all of us. Very disappointed.

I wanted to see for myself if Sheryl really did return to the quality she had on her first few works......This work is O.K. but she can do better.....Too much self pity....but I guess its her way of healing....both mentally and physicaly.....

This is a great CD that is enjoyable to listen to. It has a very upbeat feeling to it for many of the songs and most fun is "Everybody's Makin Love" which has been very popular lately. Also really like the song "Gasoline" and think Sheryl does that really well. There is one about her experience with the treatment for cancer, "Make it Go Away" that is, of course, less upbeat but still a powerful piece. Her determination and self-confidence shines through on the album and is a great one for any Sheryl Crow fan or for those just getting to know her music.

Great SongsI like all the songs on this CD. I had heard Sheryl Crow on Dancing with the Stars sing some of the songs and wanted to get them. This CD is very good and I love the songs. I would recommend this cd to anyone. The songs on this cd have a great beat, the words are meaningful and you find yourself singing along with it when ever you play the cd.

I love this CD...but I am a major Sheryl fan. It is alot like her last one as far as style goes. She has mellowed out...except for Diamond Ring! Take that, Lance! I listened to it several times and liked it better each time. I had read some of these reviews so was expecting less. I would say it is better than Tuesday Night Breakfast Club, but not as good as Globe Sessions which in my opinion is her best.

I love Sheryl Crow...I have seen her in concert 10 times thru the years and all her previous albums are in high rotation in my music collection...But happens to all the greats...There is a time to quit...If you dont have anything new to say and a new way to say it...Quit. This album sucks. Only song that is any good at all is Gasoline, and it is a total rehash of All I wanna do in style, and even tone, as well as bad redo of Bob Dylan...So my advise to Sheryl is stay home, marry one of your producers, adopt more kids, show up at important global issues concerts, sing a few hits, collect a gift basket, a fat paycheck, and go home to a family...Before you ruin your legacy. ie see above artist. Or get off your butt, find a new writing partner and producer. Or this is the LAST album a diehard fan will ever buy...
