This is a Must Have Movie ,To watch this film is to instantly fall in love with the movie, the characters, and the scenery!!! Helen Shaver will forever be the sexiest professor in the desert.This movie is without a doubt one of the greatest lesbian movies ever, its been around for two decades .The tasteful love scene is one of the best I've seen.it sizzles !! the movie takes place in the late 50's,Desert Hearts is a lesbian love story, but also a story about the importance of many types of relationships between women: mother and daughter, friend and confidant. patricia charbonneau is amazing. the movie is a great one to watch and to own , also one of the first lesbian theme movies that had a happy ending . You will watch it over and over again .

) This is a wonderfully casted movie, realistically set in the Reno of the 1950's. On its surface, it is a movie about a woman struggling to come to terms with feelings that were VERY taboo at that time in America. But, when viewed further, it depicts how difficult it is for any of us to see ourselves while learning in fits and starts to embrace what you see. I love the discussions that this movie can start. BUY IT!

Classic!This is an endearing and a timeless classic. You'll love the characters, the humor, the romance, and the sexy sceens. If this were a tape, you'd wear those parts out! Thank goodness for DVD!
