Ten years have past since Dr. Tim Le Haye & Jerry B. Jenkins first published Left Behind. It became wildly popular & they continued the story into a whole series of books. I think there are currently 12 books to the set. This is the ninth book in the series. Based on interpretation of the Book of Revelation from the Bible, Left Behind is the story of the beginning of the end of the world as we know it. Desecration continues the sage of the tribulation force with it's leader Rayford Steele. The Trib force has come out in force if you will from around the world to Jerusalem to help rescue Gods chosen people. Those that did not take the mark of the beast (commonly known as 666) in book 8 The Mark, must now flee or die by the guillotine. Nicolae Carpathia has given up being a "nice guy" & is ready to enter Jerusalem , proclaim himself God & sit upon he throne. Many of his followers are hoping to take the mark right in his presence & are flocking to Jerusalem. Some interesting things occur on the temple mount. In this book God pours out His first Bowl Judgement upon those that have taken the mark of the beast. Meanwhile the chosen ones are fleeing into the wilderness as the final battle at Armageddon is prepared. The tribulation force is doing all they can to help. Good suspense & action.
