Depression Glass & More by Gene Florence (2000, Paperback)

I started to collect all different kinds of glass and wanted to get some history on what to look for and get detailed information on them. It has helped me make wiser choices on my purchase of collector glass.

I'm new to collecting, buying and selling Depression Glassware and this book is wonderful. Right off the bat I found I had recently sold a set of "Miss America" bowls for a tenth of their value and a "Coin" pitcher far less than its value. If I had the book prior to listing these items on eBay I am sure I would have done much better but this was a great lesson. I still got a good price for my items and learned a valuable lesson in the process. RESEARCH befor you list! I am delighted to find I have many of the items in this great book and it gives me a great guide for insurance purposes and for selling purposes. I'm not a dealer or an experienced collector,yet, but this book gives details on how to spot a fake, what the dealer is asking, what you can expect to get and the names of the patterns and their manufacturers.
A really great guide and since I purchased it through half.com I got a great bargain on it as well. Research can be fun and reasonable as well as profitable.
