I decided to buy it when I began reading a friend's copy. I couldn't put it down, and when I left town I decided to buy myself and my mother each a copy.

The book being an excellent and apparently sound reference book on nutritional and holistic healing for depression, in its various kinds, is also a book of solid research scholarship. I am highly impressed with it, and hope to begin implementing a new, depression-free recovery diet for myself. I reccomend this book to everyone who is, has been, or knows a someone who is depressed. Please consider this alternative a viable optinon.

Depression-Free for Life by Cousens and Mayell
Review created: 07/10/08

I've read several books about depression and natural treatment. This book has been the "wordiest," but somehow manages to say the least. The authors have some complicated theories that are hard to follow. Their thinking is that all types of depression have either this cause or that cause, and every person is either this way or that way; there's a lot of pigeon-holing here. I didn't enjoy the book and I don't think it was especially helfpful. It seems to be a lot of high-minded jibberish. I can recommend other books on depression and its treatment, but I do not recommend this one.
