Demon's Souls (Playstation 3, 2009)

Undoubtedly, Demon’s Souls is a classic and in our book, the best RPG title on the PS3 so far. Even with the crazy difficulty and the lack of any real story cut-scene, the game has a distinctive charm that make gamer want to plough on even when they’ve been killed for the umpteenth times. In fact, the game’s level of difficulty has successfully made leveling-up a genuinely challenging and enjoyable experience; instead of the mundane button-smashing ordeals in many other RPGs.

In addition, Demon’s Souls is coupled with an interesting worldview, carefully thought-up exploration areas, unique enemies, and a customization-based leveling-up engine that literally gives you the freedom to use unlimited fighting style. Most importantly, Demon’s Souls is genuinely enjoyable from start to finish – and that speaks plenty amidst the assault of game titles we get nowadays.

Move aside Konami, Capcom, and Square Enix. From Software has just become the first game developer to score a Perfect 5 out of 5 with Demon’s Souls on the PS3Hyper Review. Now, we demand a sequel, and quick!

This will easily get GOTY for me. A must play for any hardcore gamer. Extremely difficult. With that comes extreme fun. A must have import.

This game is hard... But if you persist through you will discover a game filled with thrills and a lot of deaths... I haven't had any time for the multiplayer element of the game but it sounds awesome

I bought this game knowing it would be tough and it didn't let me down. From the first minute of the game, you need to keep your head straight or have it chopped off by the hoards of undead and demon spawn. For those asking why it's so hard, one of the main reasons is that if you die, you have to start the dungeon from scratch, with the exception of switches opened which act as short cuts. However, not all the levels have those. I've beat the game a few times through now and I'm about to get my platinum. The replay value is great. After I get my platinum I'm going to try out online pvp play and co-op online play(dabbled in it a bit but not a lot). It's definately the best RPG I've played for PS3(better than Oblivion in my opinion). It's a true test of patience at times, but in the end it is well worth it. If you have the time to sit and think about strategy, try different things, look online for help occasionally, then you will get through this game and love it. If you are looking for an easy experience you can beat in a few days and move on, then I would keep looking elsewhere!

The game was very enjoyable and it took up a lot of my spare time. I had fun playing online with my friends who also bought the game and we spent countless hours finding new weapons and killing invading players. I found the system of hints very helpful but, aggravating at the same time. I plan on buying it again when it is released in North America.

If you love action RPG games like Kings Field or Oblivion then this is the game for you. Not only are you playing by yourself but since you are logged on to the Demon's Souls server you can see the ghosts of other players playing their game as well. You can then play with or against other players if you choose to. You start off in the physical world but inevitably you are killed and play the game as a soul or ghost. You can eventually move back and forth from physical to ghost but that comes later. Great import since it recognizes your language as english and loads everything that way. No need to select english it does it for you - Sweet! This game will come out in the US in Oct but why wait? If you can get a good price on a used copy here on eBay go for it!

I did pay the item, and I haven't received and NO refund.
I tried to contact the Resolution Center and ask about my refund and the seller said that he hasn't recived the payment, I sent the paypal transaction all the number and the payment and I got nothing. It's a shame for the seller alternativedvd, I tried to contact the seller soo many times and notihng.

Fast shipment, great game! Its hard not to die in this game but with patients it gets better. I have put in about 24 hours of time into this game so far and still have a very long way to go to beat it. So if your looking for a game that will give you some game time this is for you.

It's a great game. The fighting system works well also. The only can I see about this game might be the difficulty. You aren't able to change the difficulty, it adjusts on its own. The game remains easy if you don't die, but gets harder each time you do(and you will- guaranteed). It's still a highly addicting game, you just can't put the controller down!

I have been waiting for a good RPG for the Playstation 3 since it's release. I was reading the previews researched this game before it was available here in the states. I almost didn't purchase this game because of the difficultly and time that it would take to beat it. Needless to say, i am glad i purchased Demon's Souls. This is one of the best games i have played yet on the PS3. It is a great game that features, beautiful graphics, great level layout, and you can create your character how you want. It is true that this game is difficult, i must of died at least a dozen times in just my first hour of playing it. But, there is something that just keeps you coming back for more. This is not a game that you will beat in a couple of hours. Even if your a skilled gamer. I truly recommend this game to anyone who likes being able to upgrade their character how they want, likes action, surprises, and a good challenge.

I am completely addicted to this game. For some reason it reminds me of a 3D beat 'em up but with the whole RPG angle. Tons of bosses, items, weapons, spells, levels, enemies, etc. This game is just plain FUN! The difficulty of the game might put off some people but I enjoy it a lot!

I bought the game for my son and he really enjoys playing the game. It has all the action that he likes in a game.

Another heavy hitter exclusive on the PS3. This is by far the best RPG on the PS3 thus far. This is a must buy for anyone whole loves RPGs.
Pros:
Stunning visuals, some of the best one the system.
Very difficult, challenging, yet rewarding experience.
Customizable character, including the facial features and all of the governing stats.
Fantastic musical experience.
A wealth of unique and powerful enemies.
Cons:
It can be a bit too difficult for some people, not for all. If you do now like a challenge, you probably won't enjoy this much.

So all in all, for someone who loves a challenging RPG, this is a must buy.

A very excellent, and well developed game. Not only is it dark and post-apocalyptic, but its also somewhat very realistic. Basically this game shows no mercy if you make a ton of mistakes.
This game is recommended for hardcore rpg gamers. This is NOT for gamers who just wants to be pampered.

Be prepared to die. This game will often frustrate you, because of traps and ambushes. This game is not to be taken lightly upon.

Again, NOT for pampered gamers. This is for hardcore gamers who has a thrill for "adventure".
