An unfortunately overlooked title
Review created: 05/12/08(updated 05/12/08)
The third installment in Capcom's Gargoyle's Quest trilogy, Demon's Crest is an excellent blend of action-platformer and RPG elements. The graphics are pretty impressive for their time, the gameplay is fun and challenging (very challenging), and the music is atmospheric and well-orchestrated. The crests from the game's title provide a great deal of variety, and you'll need it. The levels are packed with secret paths, hidden bosses, and special items. With multiple endings and a blisteringly difficult final boss (not to mention the secret boss), it's a game you can sink a lot of time into. This entire trilogy seems to be almost unknown even amongst gamers, and that's a shame. If you're a fan of the SNES, this is a title you shouldn't miss.
