Deluo (851017001111) Car GPS Receiver

I bought this reciever and the Streets and Trips software to use in my truck on my laptop when traveling to places unknown to me. It works pretty well, but I had to figure out a system to get it to work in my truck with the laptop. Seems that you have to plug the reciever in after powering up my laptop (Dell Inspiron 6000) and then run the software. If you do it any other way, the computer locks up. It took me about a week to figure this out, but the reciever and software work nicely together. You can program destinations with the software and it will literally track you to the front door of your destination. It also shows you where you are on the map, highway, dirt road, city road or anyplace. It will show your altitude and the speed at which you are traveling. I think it updates every few seconds and gives you a reading. Obviously it will not work well in tunnels or in a covered situation (I travel through a tunnel weekly, so I know). One word of caution, and the manufacturer of the software states this, it can be distracting at times. I sometimes find myself paying attention the screen more than the road and that is not good. It has an audible voice that will tell you where to turn with plenty of time to react to that voice command. Overall I really like this setup, and will keep on using it. One more word of caution, the reciever itself likes to get warm, so let it cool down after using it.
