Singer/harmonica player Charlie Musselwhite was born in the blues cradle of the Mississippi hill country, and made the pilgrimage to Chicago as a young man, and he reconnects with those roots with a vengeance on DELTA HARDWARE. The album is dominated by original tunes, plus classics from the Billy Boy Arnold and Little Walter songbooks; on each cut, Musselwhite's emotive harp and low-key vocals are matched step-for-step by his raw, hard-hitting band, making for a sound that's steeped in Mississippi and Chicago influences while still feeling somehow contemporary.
