A GREAT PRODUCT FOR THE MONEY

A great little tool for the money. The only thing I do not like is the inability to see more of the internet screen when online. You have to move the screen around to see all of it. Otherwise a great tool.

Handy device when a laptop is not practical

I have owned one of these for 3 years now, and it has never failed me. I use it in meetings with Dell's optional keyboard for note taking, as it much quicker than tapping out each word. Having your contact info with you in Pocket Outlook is valuable also, as you can exchange contact info readily through the I/R port.
I keep a couple of spread sheets that I track my Checking account and milage tracking in Pocket Excel. I am not too saavy with the WIFI yet though. Overall this piece of equipment has done everything asked of it. You cannot go wrong on this one.

I purchased the Axim as an alternative way to check emails and do light browsing while not having to boot up a pc. The Axim has worked fairly well for me. My largest grievance with the Axim is that it takes an incredible amount of time to find my wireless network. I would think that it would easily find the last network that it went online with but, no it searches for every other possibility first. Once it does find my WiFi network it does admirably. The Axim is rather easy to use and understand. I have given it an average mark as it is the first PDA that I have owned.

The Dell Axim X3 is one of the better Windows Mobile devices that has ever been produced, and because it is over a year old, they can be obtained for a great price. Durability, reliability, and a decent feature set are among its strong points, and the x3 is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to stay organized.

  Overrated and BULKY!
Review created: 03/13/08

2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I'd say that this item is good for the price, that's what Dell is known for (craftsmanship for an appropriate price), however, this device isn't the normal PDA...it's above and beyond.

You may be wondering why I titled my review the way I did and why I just rated the device average if I claim it to be "above and beyond" -- because it is, for a PDA. Apparently Dell claims this to be a "Pocket PC", far from it my friend.

The wireless card (purchased and installed separately) whichever from Dell and Dell only has horrible reception, the battery life is a mere day, maybe a day and a half, and there aren't many applications that come standard. Obviously to achieve what the item claims to behold, you have to pay a fortune EXTRA for software!

--This is not even mentioning the bulkiness, it looks extremely odd on my belt, practically the size of the ORIGINAL Gameboy!

All in all, I'd save my money if I were you. And make sure to read other reviews, mine may be biased because I'm pretty upset at what I put my money into.

This is a great little pocket pc quick to access pages with its 400 mhz processor, plus with the built in wi-fi I can get hop online just about anywhere to check email and ebay and other online pages! Runs under windows mobile 2003 which works well with windows vista on my desktop and laptop! I would definelty buy another one of these as well as recommend them to anyone who want a nice little computer to use on the road or anywhere really!!

Love the ease of use of this product, though trying to setup the WiFi network is a bit of a burden. and if the backup battery is gone, ebay should have one!

  GREAT THANKS
Review created: 06/05/08

great thanks bought the NewPhone 74205 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus

  Dell Axim X3i
Review created: 09/19/09

I bought the Dell Axim. I love the features, it is a mini replica of the laptop that I have at home. I especially love all the great catagories and files that it contains. What I dislike about the product is that I have to spend additional money in order to receive the full potenial of the Dell Axim i.e. I need to download a new back up battery and purchase a new main battery because the life span is almost over. I bought the item because of my life style I need to be able to reach any and all of my contacts, emails etc. I do not regret purchasing the item at all.

  grrrr...frustration
Review created: 08/10/09
by:

I got this because I wanted to use it to access the web with wifi which i have in my home and a portable wifi device as well..and when it came the backup battery had to be removed because it was dead so if the battery died or was removed basically wiped all data from it...so I through 30$ at it and fixed it myself which required complete disassemble, and have yet, after searching solutions on the web and updating the device completely (which required tracking down a pre xp comp) not been able to connect the device to the web. The seller is good, shipped fast and the price reasonable. Just disappointed in the product.

Descriptive title but add part name and/or number
Review created: 07/03/09
by:
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I liked the ability to purchase the specific and exact replacement part that solves a common but not readily addressed issue with the Dell Axim X3 product. The backup battery was plug and play compatible with no modifications required at installation. The part came tested with pass criteria plainly marked on the invoice. The discriminator between good and excellent part presentation would be inclusion of a generic install instruction sheet or directions to a compendium of repair sheets for parts provided obviating immediate reference referral at install time. It is cost effective and satisfying to resolve a problem by identifying a part replacement solution; and follow through with a successful replacement repair.
