Great Monitor- If you have the computer to run it.

This is a great monitor. After only one day using it at home, I went in to the office and thought about how small the 22 inch monitor looked on my desk. I wish I could convince my employer to put a dell 30 inch on my office desk.
If you are considering purchasing this monitor, you will need to make sure you have a graphics card (and computer) that will support the resolution. This uses a dual link dvi cable which looks like a standard DVI cable, but has extra pins in it. It only uses one cable. Dual link is one cable, not two cables. This one connection is the only connection on the monitor for video.
The monitor will run in lower than the 2560x1600 resolution, but it does not look as good. I got a new monitor (not refurbished) from a dell reseller on eBay, and it has 3 dead pixels. Which is not bad out, considering it has over 4 million pixels. Overall this is the largest monitor out there for the price. The only other 30 inch at this time is the apple and it is almost double the price.
DVD playback: remember the resolution of the monitor is alot higher than even HD and double most DVD's so watching DVD's on it makes the video stretch out.
What you can do: You can check email, surf the web, and watch a dvd or tv with a tuner card all at the same time.
Others reaction: Everyone says I went overboard, and that this is the biggest monitor they have ever seen. They are right on both accounts.
