Strengths: very fast and easy to use. wireless features required no configuration changes. just turn on wireless instantly acccess the web when near access point. very solid.


Weaknesses: not many that i can see. maybe barely audible speakers.


In conclusion, I highly recommend this guy! For the price, you can't beat it for this great piece of equipment. i love how easy it is to get online with the wireless feature. i can go to most places and be able to get online and chat or check email. bluetooth makes it great and connects to my desktop very easily. it's quite small and fits nicely into my pocket and i don't leave my house without it these days. it is a high quality pda and very cheap compared to other pdas that are slower.

This is a excellent PDA unit that has some computer functions avaliable. I have used it to access the Internet with mixed results. The web-browser onboard ithe unit is not that good. The email client is fair. The network configuration software is reminicent of magic spell incantations. Clumsy and diffcult to navigate. The PDa functions on the other hand are excellent. The calander, scheduler, and note systems are outstanding to use for me. The Home screen is easy to use and very clear. All in all, a real buy if all you need is a excellent PDA that can download email for viewing.

Very nice PDA at a reasonable price. Bought to input scientific data from field, but also very nice for on the go contact info and limited web browsing. Has many other features like music that I have not had much time to use. Certainly better than lugging around a laptop if you don't have to.

OK, well I purchased this Dell Axim simply because it had WiFi so I could surf the net in bed or around the house without having to get my laptop.

Anyway, it was great. Game formatted with Windows 2003 SE, was usable straight out of the box. It is a great hand-held PDA which can easily fit in your pocket. It came pre-installed with Internet Explorer, Office and a game or 2. The wireless setup was a breeze, I turned it on, typed in my WPA code and I was off! Took all of 3mins.

Battery lasts about 1-2 hours depending on usage and it's quite good for general task keeping and surfing the net (email checking etc).

This is a great asset to anyone who needs the internet on the go or who just needs a basic organizer. Highly recommended.

This Dell Axim X30 does what I need it to do. I had a palm zire which I really liked. But eventually it broke. It was used hard. I got a Ipaq 3600 series which I still have and it still works, I just wanted to upgrade to wireless. I got a upgraded Ipaq it broke within months I was very disappointed. It was a 4500 series. The battery connection broke on the board. This dell works great. The wireless is fast enough for me. It is windows compatable for all my documents. I only wish I could use all those sd card products I bought for palm on it. So for now I like it and it works great I just hope it lasts. It does feel a bit more durable than the 2nd Ipaq I bought.

the x30 is a powerful little pda, its uses are many and it continues to be functional and productive.

WE all have our own way of judging people and or busnesses and I made mine. When I read the write-up on the Dell Axim30 hand held, I just knew I had found what I had been looking for. Nothing could have been further from the truth. I bought two (2) of them, one for me and one for my wife for a total of $449.00. The one I kept kept telling me that the back-up battery was failing and soon, it did fail. The seller did NOT send me an owners manual, no instructions and I was never able to connect to the internet which was one of the main reasons I bought it, to get on the internet away from home. After about 12 times of trying on my own to contact the seller by phone without any luck, I then turned to EBay and PayPal and they told me they would contact the seller and get the matter corrected. The seller finally decided to contact me by email telling me that the battery was good when they shipped it to me but that they would send me a "new one" what I got , a blindman could tell it was not new and the promise of getting an owners manual took a long time for me to get. My wife's unit did not have an owners manual either so we were promised a book for her unit alonf with a "new case, new batteries" and anything else they could think of to try to make me happy. It took about a month for those items to be shipped. After my experience with this seller, I will not recommend doing busnesses with them, not even to my worst enemy. My laptop died, and unlike some people, I don't just have the money to buy another. So I did a little research and decided to buy the Axim X30 High. It is a great little machine fast and plenty capable.

The unit is great, especially with the built-in wifi and its sleek design. However, be careful if you're looking for upgrades or updated PPC applications. The unit comes with PPC OS2003 and if you try using PPC applications made for any other version then 2003 then you may have some compatibility issues. You're pretty much stuck with what's available out there which means the unit is obsolete as it is since nobody wants to write applications for such an old version anymore.

this is a older unit, technology has moved on, it was bought for work based on a program that recommended this model and requirements. That program is not working at present but the unit is fine still able to handle the work environment.

I think its a great product all around. I was never a Dell product fan but the Axim X30 is one of a kind. From its cutting edge design and docking station to endless capabilities and possibilites beyond my wildest expectations.

I traded my HP Ipaq for the Dell Axim X30 a while back. The axim was easier to navigate, and the wireless (wi-fi) turned on and off easier than the Ipaq. The batteries seem to last the same amount of time, and the accessories are easily attainable, however, the look and feel of the Axim was fitting to me. The Axim is slimmer than the Ipaq hx2415. The software is almost exactly the same, and the only con that comes to mind is that the Axim has limited memory storage compared to the Ipaq. It only uses on SD card, and the Ipaq uses an SD and a CompacFlash.

I use the Dell Axim pda for work everyday as a field service tech, I loaded my service manuals onto sd memory cards. It works great, very fast at loading them, battery life is avg. I think about 2 hrs but that is using it off and on for 15 to 30 min. at a time,the wifi works good, sometime hard if you have more the one site to log on to.

This a neat little unit. It is fast good for on the go musicians like me, you can even get sequencer & tuner sofware for it besides knowing the place you will be at next, contact & finance info and if you are like me I like my cell phone and pc seperate but I can still link them together through blue tooth. What can you do with this item? If ya do'nt mind tinkering and are'nt afraid of it anything!

I really like the 624 MHZ version of the Dell X30. Very simple to setup and use and powers through all my applications. It's a great deal on a great PDA...

I had a PDA which I use for my business, but I needed to upgrade to a faster processer. I in bought off Ebay which was just as good as a new one but half the cost.

only one problem with the shippping it was shipped thru UPS and the cost was not all shown , they have a hidden cost at arrival with a 46 dollars of brokrage fees which was not calculated in our price .

I upgraded to the Dell Axim X30V from a Sony Clie 615. I love the wireless internet and the Dell X30 is like carry a mini laptop in my purse. I also have added pocket money so it is great for keeping track of my check balance. The Dell seems well build and sturdy. The program available are unlimited! I would recommend this little computer to anyone.

I love how versitile this little thing is. Sure beats taking a laptop to class. Lets me sync notes documents and just about everything thing else. there's nothing this thing can't do that a PC can other than games and select programs.
