Dell Axim X30

Priot to purchasing the Dell Axim x-30 I did my research. Th Dell Axim x-30 with the 624 mghz processor is an exceptional product. Excellent. But I ended up purchasing the Dell Axim X-30 with a 312 processor because I assumed that the description on the ebay listing was incorrect. After getting the product and finding it has half the processing speed I expected I did more research. Dell did indeed release a 312 processor x-30 and a 624 x-30. Why they would both share the same name is a mystery to me. Normally when a company releases a new product it's given a new name. And the differences between 312 and 624 is like night and day. This is an example of Dells backward thinking.

What differences do the speeds mean? If you wish to run VoIP programs like Skype a fast procesor helps alot. If you wish to watch video at 640x480 resolution a fast processor is needed. But to play solitaire, surf the web and receive email the 312 processor is fine.

I ended up buying another product with a faster processor. If you get the Dell Axim X-30 make sure it is in fact the 624 processor.

it was exactly as i wanted and it was exactly as advertised. the cradle is a little big but that is not a minus...i do my job with it

I have just received my Dell Axim X30 and really like the feel of it in my hand. This is my second Axim I have owned my first being a X5 which was very useful to me. I would be still using it if it had not been misplace, because it the best PDA I had every owned. If this one is as good, it will give me years of service as the previous did.
