Dell Axim X5

I love this product because of its great capabilities. I love using pda's for mp3 player and even for small mpeg4 movies. Great item!!! Love mine and am thinking about getting one for my brother.

I've had an Axim X5 since 2003 and have been so impressed, that I wanted to get another one considering the remarkable deal ~$30 for what used to be $200+.

It still is quite useful, able to play my music, use with GPS equipment, connect to the internet with WiFi (good speed too - I recommend purchasing a Symbol Compact Flash Wifi Card), and watch videos. Of course the operating system is quite outdated (Pocket PC 2002 or Windows Mobile 2003), however there are still some really good freeware programs still to be found on the internet.

I completely recommend purchasing with Windows Mobile 2003 since most of the good software is written for that version. You can of course find out how to upgrade using google searches.

The Axim X5 was a leader in it's time and as a result is still relevant 6 years later in today's technological world.

Great Item!
This is a great item for first time PDA users. It was my first PDA and I highly recommend it. I had no troubles figuring out how to use it. It has more useful features than you think.
Features that I like and because of which I purchased this device:
MP3 Player, Storage Capacity, Size, Price, Quality, Weight.
The fact I am not 100% satisfied about is that it is really hard to find a cool looking case for this device.
Other than that its A+++++++

I had a Dell Axim X3 which I really liked. The only trouble with it was you could not replace the keep-alive batteries without taking the unit apart. The X5 is larger, but has replacable batteries. The functions are about the same, it will take a CF and SD cards so you have more storage.

Happy with the product that I received. The product is in good condition and everything appears to be in working order. The product was shipped on a timely manner.

I needed to replace my original after the screen went bad.
This PDA with dual slots is flexible, and fast. I've used one for years, and can honestly say the more I use it, the more I can find to use it for.

Looking for an inexpensive PDA, DELL makes a great product.

For the price the Dell Axim X5 is everything that I thought. The only thing that has me up set is that the seller has failed to give me a positive feedback.

I bought DELL AXIM X5 spesifically for my father,nowdays it is very useful and important piece of equipment,, it does lot,s of things and it,s portable. I LIKE ewerything with that item, NO DISCREPANCIES AT ALL.

I looked into possibly getting a PDA Phone. PDA phones are very expensive, with expensive monthly contracts you're committed to. PDA phones do not have the functionality with MS WORD, MS EXCEL, PDF's, MS OUTLOOK, etc. that I wanted. The phone camera's are poor for anything but fast, quick shots (though they are getting better). And you're really out of luck if any one component goes bad. So, when I had a need to pick up another PDA, I chose to buy another Dell Axim X5 after my research.

We bought our first one's in 2002 and 2003. My wife's began to malfunction. We had problems with the touchscreen and backup battery issues. So, I bought a third one off of EBAY. Instead of throwing the old Dell in the trash, I pursued the issue on the internet and found answers. It has been reported that an electronic ribbon to the touchscreen was getting shorted out. I followed simple instructions and fixed the problem. Now, I have three, very fine, functioning Dell Axim X5's. I let the kids use one.

The Dell Axim x5 is a great tool. My wife and I each have our own units. We synchronize our PDA's to our main home computer, so that we have a common calendar, a common contacts list, etc. I signed up with Avantgo.com for web content, fresh each morning when I synchronize. I have MS Word, Excel, and other programs to use. I can read and write emails. I can play MP3's, watch video, etc. The Dell is fully expandable with both a CF and an SD slot. Our models do not have wireless capability, but we are very satisfied with once a day synchronization.

In my opinion, the Dell Axim X5 is still a very viable tool, even after 4-5 years of existence. After doing my research, I felt very confident in buying another one. Except for instant messaging and connectivity, the X5 is still very, very capable (and no ongoing fees!!!).

i bought the dell axim x5 i bought it from him because it was cheap and looked in good condition. i dont like it thogh because it dosent work as well as he said and dident include a styles (wich is really inportant for pocket pc's) and i bought a styles but the slot where it goes had something jammed in it. other than that i recived it fast and he recived my payment quickly

It is OK for using, this PDA has a long priod to use without worry to run out power. The only problem is sometimes it has fault warning backup battery out.

The Dell Axim X5 was reccomended by friends who were owners. It seemed like an excellent buy for the going price.

I have used an Axim X5 for several years. It has been dependable, and has withstood being dropped in snow banks.

We now own two units, which we use for our e-books

I decided to buy this Pocket PC because it had all the features I wanted. It was upgradeable and wireless capable, it had slots for extra memory, it had the capability to have powerpoint presentations on it so that I could take them on the go. The best thing about it was the syncing with outlook unlike Palms that need additional software to do that, these will do it automatically.
