Director Jean-Pierre Jeunet(Amelie, City Of Lost Children and co-director Alien Ressurection) does an amazing job with this 1991 futuristic post-apocolyptic French sci/fi comedy. Jean-Claude Dreyfus stars as a cannibal butcher who runs a boarding house full of bizarre characters. After eating his handyman, he hires an ex-circus clown played by Dominique Pinon to replace him in more ways than one. This is my favorite foreign language film. It's beautifully filmed and written and it's very stylish and funny. If you don't mind reading subtitles this is a wonderful movie. If you like this you will also like City Of Lost Children with Ron Pearlman, Dominique Pinon and Jean-Claude Dreyfus.
