Oasis' first major release.
This album ignited Britpop in the early 90's, spawning a bitter rivalry with fellow English rockers "Blur"
Oasis was sued several times over this album, one of said incidents being copyright infringement of the Coca-Cola jingle!
Noel Gallagher claims this is his best work.

) I decided to buy "Definitely Maybe" by Oasis because the are the epitome of rock and roll in my eyes.
I love this particular album because of the track, "Live Forever."
I saw them in concert recently and I fell in love with them even more.

) Great CD loaded with hits. Love it almost as much as WTSMG. Highly recommend! Oasis never got much play in the US. It's a shame, because this CD should have yielded many top 10 hits. Try it.

So, this is the debut album from Oasis. It is absolutly classic. Tracks like Supersonic, Slide Away, Live Forever and Married With Children are songs for everyone. Unlike many rock and roll bands, Oasis sends out a positive message. The music they make won't get you down. It's relatable also. For a debut album I don't think any band could do much better.
This album, or the following album (what the story?) morning glory are always in top 100 count downs, and it is for good reason. They are a band that will be considered classic rock 30 years from now. Definitley Maybe stands the test of time.

I must admit I don't appreciate much of the music of the '90s......I'm a B-Boomer...But, I also DO appreciate alot too ( Son Volt, Travis, U2 ) ...I read an article which stated the 'virtues' of this one, so I bought it......Whoops...I've obviously missed something here........as I was NOT impressed !!!! The CD That defined the 90'sDefinitely Maybe was Liam and Noel Gallaghers first album, and what an Album it was. It was 1994 and rock and roll music was dying, grunge music had taken over and a depressed state had fell upon many people in the UK and all around the world, but something would change all that. Oasis changed the whole scene, Liam gallagher's voice overpowered everything in its way with him screaming out the vocals to tracks like "supersonic", "rock n' roll star", and the heartbreaking "live forever", quite possibly one of the greatest Oasis songs of all time. From the beginning he sang, "I need to be myself, I can't be no one else!" There is something so simple yet so complex about this CD it almost seems as if Noel and Liam had been doing this forever, it was like the CD was a greatest hits record when really it was a debute, this cd is still impacting people today and remains as concrete proof of Noel Gallaghers brilliance.
