I Love De-niro and i love this film,the original Vietnam movie Cult..
Fantastic acting, focusing on with life before the war which makes this classic viewing and giving you a feeling for the people portrayed.

The Deer Hunter is an excellent film that shows the effects of PTSD on war veterans. The film introduces you to three men and their friends, and how they change before and after their participation in the Vietnam War. It's very touching and sad, and it deserved the five Academy Awards it won. DeNiro, Savage, and Walken did a fine job in this, and so did John Cazale and Meryl Streep. The Legacy Series DVD is a 2-disc special edition that includes the widescreen film and some cool special features. I recommend it.
