Argento Giallo classic

Like all Argento, you really have to stay focused to appreciate his craft. The studious viewer will be amply rewarded.
Marcus (David Hemmings), a foreign pianist in Italy, witnesses a murder and is obsessed with finding out who did it. he has a nagging thought in his mind concerning a painting that he can't shake. he realizes it's important, but just can't get it to come forth.
He somewhat joins with a dippy reporter, Gianna (Daria Nicolodi) to try and solve this mystery. He manages to travel though some really magnificent sets as he searches. There are more murders with some bizarre twists, and the level of horror increases steadily with each one.
He stumbles upon a clue that leads him to the murderer, who turns out to be a big surprise. Along the way, he finds a hidden body. It appears that the murders are being done to keep a dark secret from being reveled.
The attentive viewer will immediately know that he has the wrong person. It is just not possible. That's when he puts his thinking cap on again and comes up with that thing that has been bugging him and the identity of the real killer.
Argento uses Hemmings well and Hemmings gives a great performance is a really good thriller.
