Kevin Trudeau's Debt Cures Is an Excellent Resource
Review created: 06/08/08

I read the book "Debt Cures" by Kevin Trudeau, and learned many things about outstanding debt. It really helped me to deal with debt collection agencies who used unfair or even illegal methods to collect on debts. Some debts are so old that the collection agency can't legally even call about them. But if a debtor makes any offer of repayment, it starts the clock ticking again.

Trudeau also mentioned that the agencies who harass debtors can be stopped simply by telling them not to call anymore and that you will send a letter backing up your request. Excellent information that can be used by anyone hounded with debt collection agencies.

He also informs in the book that filing for bankruptcy usually isn't a good option for most people and that filing probably won't stop some debt collectors from calling anyway.

I thought that he got a bit verbose at times, and found that I could merely browse and skip through some parts of the book, but even so, gleaning what I did from his book was very valuable information and worth the cost of the book.

One of the most important pieces of information he gave was information on how long each state holds debtors liable for repayment. After the time period each state specifies, the debt is no longer collectible. If a buyer has purchased an item with a credit card, chances are that the buyer paid well more than the item cost in fees and if unable to repay an entire credit card balance, they can be assured that the remaining debt is not valid after the state legislated period of time.

It is a book worth your time if you worry about debt or know someone who does. The information is valuable and useful and the cost of the book can be easily recouped if the reader has debt problems which can be solved using Kevin Trudeau's suggestions.

I havnt completed the book yet but everything so far is good information. I do wish there was a little more help about the grant info. Yes if I had it to do over again yes, I would have bought it. Debt is something that is ramped in America. I myself as a disabled Iraqi Freedom Veteran have encored a major amount of debt and have become homeless. I do have some income but it is hard to find a job in what I know with my injuries. But I am at least working on some of the strategies in "Debt Cures" to change my situation. I hope the best of luck to all. Remember "Freedom Is Not Free" But Neither is the cost of staying in Debt.

Sincerely,

Dan The Falcon Man

The following is my opinion and nothing more:

I saw his infomercial on the TV and heard him talk about how we can cut off years on our mortage loans. How we can have our credit card debt eliminated or reduced significantly and how there is free money out there for us. I have read more than 250 pages in this book and I could not find a really effective and practicle advice in there. Moreover, he kept on saying how bad the banks & these financial institutions are and how much they love people with bad credit. Maybe it is true, but we dont want to read 250 pages to get that. Just make your point and move on. To reduce debt, he talks about asking for help from our "friend" Lawyers and Accountants, but common how many of us have these expensive professionals as our "friends" who will do things for us for "free"? He talks about free money... let me see,if you didn't know about collecting unemployment (if unemployes) or SSI (if disabled) checks than that might be a little helpful. This was a total waste of my money and time.

Seems have lots of referenced material already published. I couldn't find much new or really innovative suggestions which was what I was hoping for.
I should have checked a copy out from my local library before purchasing and would have been just as satisfied.

I decided to buy this because I see the commercials on TV for it all the time and got interested but hate dealing with offers on the TV. I have had a lot of success with ebay and usually end up spending less.

I wanted to purchase this book to examine the contents to see if it would be a helpful tool. My back ground is a financial back ground. I did not find this book very helpful. Most of the information was information I already knew. There was alot of repetition in the book and excess paragraphs that were put in to what ssemed to fill space. Even though there were some good points to note, it is mostly designed to assist indiviuals who have already had financial problems and defaults. Like I said there is some good information in the book but it, in my opinion, does not provide what it is advertised as.

I am almost through this book and it is great, i thought the debt expiration chapter was awsome because i had a debt that was 9 years old, I was a teenager when i made this debt and they contacted me to pay it 9 years later, i wanted to fight it but didnt know how and so i payed it. Now i have the knowledge on how to fight it if it ever happened again. I love this book and i would recommend it, it may not fix everybodys debt problems like he says overnight but i feel VERY knowledgable on how credit works now and credit card companies and it makes me feel more confident when i deal with them. I have never argued with companies over fees and extra charges i have always paid them but this book explained them all so well that now i know i need to argue them and try to get out of them or have them reduced.

Over all this product was good. This book is slow to get started. The first 5 chapters of the book includes things you already know. He does repeat himself a lot in the chapters. Then he starts to tell you the things you need to know. Keep reading! It does get better. You will find that the2 cd's have more information, that you are probably looking for, on them. Still, the book is well worth getting and reading.

Seems like it's going to be great to help reduce interest on credit cards. I've not finished the book yet, just too busy with 2 jobs. A little too much information in the beginning chapters when you're anxious to get to the "meat" of the book, but I think it's going to be well worth the money.

There is a lot of fluff to this book. He tells a lot of stories as to why there is so much debt but a miniscule amount on how to get out of it. There were about five (5) good points to the whole book. It took a lot of time reading the book to find those few good things.

It has a lot of helpful info on getting back at creditcard companies that seem to want to make you pay 10 times more than you borrowed. I like all of this authors books.
Thank you

Advice so simple, of course you wouldn't believe it, January 21, 2008
By M. Raguz

I've decided to do an actual BOOK REVIEW, rather than an author review. Sure, Kevin made some mistakes in the past, but nobody's perfect, not even his worst critics. It's my deep belief that if you rip on wealthy people, you probably aren't wealthy and never will become wealthy. So I stay open to what Kevin has to say.

So on that note, I've actually read the book from cover to cover and can honestly tell you that despite his repeating the same basic ideas and how people used the Debt Cures methods over and over, the advice in the book is simple & solid for someone like me who is dealing with debt collection scumbags.

Like Kevin's previous books, there's alot of eye-opening and anger-inducing information. He tells you how to set up an income statement and balance sheet to document your net worth (handy for reducing your debt amount), the details of your credit score, credit repair, basics on how to deal with collection agencies, applying for grants, and getting started with financial freedom.

I'd say the best place to start researching fair debt collection is on the internet, IF you know where to look. However, if you are in getting harassed by bill collectors and completely clueless about your options, this book is a good place to start, but to me it's most useful for the other topics I described previously. Worth a careful read.

  Debt Cures! Great reading
Review created: 08/17/09

This is an excellent guide to helping those who are in debt to cure some of them. Most, if not all of the steps in the book worked. I was so amazed myself. I'm one of the biggest skeptics in the world, and for me to praise it, then it actually works. Kevin tells it like it is and he's not afraid to take criticism. Of course he's in it for profit, but who isn't looking for profit nowadays. I give this book 2 thumbs up.

I am trying to improve my credit rating and so I bought the book. It has a lot of secret information that the credit card companies don't tell you. It shows you how the credit card companies are looking at you. It has given me a whole different outlook on credit.

Excellent decision to buy. I have spoken to others about the book and actually encouraged them to do the same.
