it's the year 2012 and the US economy has collapsed, enemployment reaches all time high, crime rate is spirialing out of control, & the prision sysytem is at a breaking point.Jensen Ames is a hard worker and the metal work shop that is closing.The one thing he is thankful for is his wife and baby girl.But when a someone breaks in and kills his wife, they set him up to make it look like he did it.He is then sent to the most dangerous prision, where it is truely each for their own, and being in there for a crime he didn't do.When the warden gives him an ultimatium to race or live his life in prison he takes her up on the offer with hopes of getting his baby girl back to keep him going.This is a race like no other it's a race to the death & no rules to this game!Jensen takes on the Frnakenstein role & car, win 5 races and go free.But at Terminal Island pentitentary, the warden has turned it into a sick game for the viewers, with 3 phases each getting worse and worse.

I love these kind of action movies. I would most def. recommend this movie to thrill seekers and people with love of the car racing extravaganza. Actors played their rolls wonderfully.

this movie wasn't bad at all. different from the 2000 version to the movie but still worth the time to pickup and watch. as always with the sick humor and the laughter this was still a pretty good movie.

i love movies. its a good way to spend quality time with my husband and the kids, it keeps the family together and happy. so keep on selling and ill be buying movies.

This dvd is a very good one. I would recomend anyone who likes racing, jail movies, fighting, and killing movies to watch this. It is all of them combined into a very well thought out very good dvd. This moveie is so good that i can watch it every ight and still nto get board of it.

I LOVED THE WHOLE THING. THIS MOVIE IS TOTALLY ACTION PACKED, ALMOST IMEDIATELY FROM THE BEGINING. IT HAS A GREAT STORY LINE THAT KEEPS YOU INTERESTED. THE CARS, THE PRISONERS, THE GUNS, EXPLOSIONS, THE TWISTED BACK STABBING, AND THE UNSEEN FRIENDSHIPS THAT UNFOLD ARE ALL AMAZING. IT'S ANOTHER JASON STATHAM HIT IN MY BOOK.

"Death Race", is absolutely one of the most amazing movies I have ever seen. So much action!! Just what I like. I was told by a friend to find the movie and watch it. She swore up and down I would fall in love with the movie. Well she was correct. I would recommend this movie to practically anyone. As long as you like action, hot men or women, and enjoy not wanting the movie to end; then this movie is for you!

Since I purchased this DVD, I have watached it several times; when family or friends come to watch movies. I love action movies and this one is full of it. I didn't like what happened to his wife and what he had to go through. The Warden was one hard woman who had no feeling. Joan played the part. My husband and I enjoy action-packed together. If you like action, you will enjoy this one.

jason statham is absolutly hot in this movie he is super sexy and a great actor i dont know if anyone else would of been able to do this part besides him...it has every element that a action film should have

Jason Stathom plays the same quiet-tough-guy in a different movie. It's fun to watch and has more of an original script than his other performances. Stupid and cheesy...and a bit unrealistic (a full cab Dodge Ram keeping up with a Mustang Fastback? I don't think so.) but I'd still recommend it to someone looking for an intense flick.

Nonstop action, graphic, but not overboard. Kept me in my chair....May be a bit dark for some, and definitely not for the young.
Same old story, with a new twist.

The only thing that keeps me from saying that this movie was great is the fact that they made a half-hearted attempt to tie this movie in with the original "Death Race 2000". Other than the failure in that department, the movie is really good.
