Death Race 2000 (DVD, 1998)

love the move. the person that i bought it from was very fast on the shipping the movie works great would buy from again. so should you.

Do to this movie being made I never thought I would watch it; however, after seeing that Jason Statham was starring in a remake of a film, I changed my mind. Man am I glad I did. The movie was funny, gory, full of fast cars and female nudity.

The plot is simple. Mr president now rules the world. Once a year he holds a cross country race, where the winner is the driver who scores the highest by running over the most people. Stallone and Carradine's (The real star of the movie) performances were great. Stallone is out of control and Carradine (aka Frankenstein) is a government tool paid to win the race. However a sinister plot is revealed to kidnap Frankenstein and stop the cruelity of the race.

My only gripe about this movie is that I wish someone had ran over the reporter, who was always making the comment "a close friend of mine." LOL

Great movie is you do not mind watching 70's style action.

Good movie with that 70's feel! Kinda funny but not sure they ment it that way at times. Overall, if you like 70's style movies and cheesy effects this is your movie. It does entertain. And it has some nice modified cars from the 70's such as a Vette and a Sterling along with some Mclarens. Happy viewing

Deathrace 2000 is the story of a cross country race, arranged by an authoritative government, in a futuristic America. The race is scored both by time and by the number and type of pedestrians killed through-out the course of the race. There are plenty of hilarious scenes and significant plot twists to keep you interested as you watch. The acting wasn't the greatest and there obviously was a limited budget when this was made, but the story more than makes up for the appearance. Deathrace 2000 is well worth owning. It is a movie that you can watch repeatedly.

I checked out a remake, coming out in the fall of 2008, and it looks like they are going to butcher it. Don't judge the original based on the remake they appear to have changed key elements of the story line, but I hope I am wrong!

This film is a classic...maybe not like Titanic...but still it is a great old car movie. Death and destruction on the screen instead of our real streets and highways, even when you think that's how people really drive. The movie is fun...that's all you need to know as a cult classic type of flick. It is in the range of action and laughs that work. I haven't seen it in years, and now that I have it it will be a 2 or 3 time a year movie to sit and watch when you in one of those bad day moods. It is always fun to see Sly at a young age when he didn't have the big ego, but he still had the same goofy YOO' Adrian sound going on! He will never be able to hide that voice! If you like action and a good giggle from B grade films...this one is it.

I love this movie. It is campy and kind of silly. It looks as though it should be some kind of dark comedy. But when you watch it you will see how hard the actors and actresses are straining to keep a straight face. David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone in one of their earliest, and least serious efforts. It revolves around a race where you receive points for running down pedestrians. The competitors seem to be chosen by the President. Underneath it all there is dissent growing in the guise of pacifist revolutionaries who will stop at nothing to try to end the carnage. It twists and turns with intrigue and leaves you wanting more. Though the movie is a little dated, it has a lot of the charm of the very first Cannonball Run Movie.

Unbelievable dark humor at its best with Carradine and Stallone. Well ahead of its time like the dark classic Harold&Maude. Highly Recommend!!!!!!!!!!!

This is in my opinion a classic cult movie. The reason I wanted to purchase this movie on E-bay because I used to own the VHS, and would like a copy of the DVD. E-bay is a great place to find hard to find merchandise. So thanks to Ebay I found a copy. I am more than a little disappointed that my movie came with a skip on it. It was a total bummer. The thing is it would cost me more in shipping the movie back accross the United states to get a new copy, then to keep the $6.00 damaged one I received. Another bummer is that someone has changed the movie and original cover work to be now Starring Sylvester Stallone- when it is really starring David Caradine. So, that's where I'm at w/ this particular E-bay purchase. I'd give it a 4 out of 10.

This film is a real "B" classic, featuring a pre "Rocky" Sylvester Stallone and a post "Kung Fu" David Carradine. Carradine is the star of this film, even though many covers show Stallone. It certainly doesn't have the greatest special effects, not even for its time, but it is another overlooked gem from the '70s. As long as you know that this is a "B," rather than an "A," film, you won't be disappointed.

Who would transfer a video cassette to dvd that stops at the end of every chapter? Not what i expected even for the price. Video quality is very good considering the source though, but not enough to make up for the formatting error.

great movie. been looking for a while for this title. the seller was a great sourse for what I was looking for and was quick to meetmy needs . This was a movie from my childhood thar I had looked long and hard to find. I am very satisfied with my purchase and the service I recieved.

This movie is a classic and I had to have it after seeing the remake. I remember seeing it at the drive-in with my parents when I was a kid. Great movie and just as cheesy as I remembered. VERY fast delivery from seller.

I remeber watching this video when I was a kid. Loved it then and love it now. I think this is probably one of the funniest video's I've watched.
