Death Note is a hit anime series

If you haven't seen Death Note yet then it is a definite must for anime fans. Before watching Volume 2 you have to see Volume 1 first (of course) to follow the story from the outset. It is addicting once you start watching it. There are 37 episodes in all and each volume contains 4 episodes. To give you a briefing on the series it is about a book called Death Note which a Shinigami from the netherworld drops to earth hoping someone will pick up and view it. The book gives directions on how to kill someone by just writing their name in the book and thinking about that person. By just writing the name the person will die of a heart attack within 5 seconds. You can also write how the person will die also. A brilliant Japanese student finds the book and starts using it. He then meets the Shinigami who dropped the book. The Shinigami then explains the rules of the Death Note. Once used, the person (Light is his name) who kills someone can then neither go to heaven or hell and lives on for eternity. Light then tries to create a perfect society by killing off all the criminals of the world and become a God-like leader of justice. He starts writing hundreds of names and people start dropping like flies. The only problem with that is someone just as brilliant ("L" is his name) working with the law wants to catch him and stop the madness that Light has started. It then becomes a battle of wits between Light and L. Since I am only on the 1st 8 episodes that's all I know for now. But I will be buying the entire series as it comes out.
