Death at a Funeral (DVD, 2009, Dual Side)

Death at a Funeral is a classic farce delivered with style and wit in the unlikliest of settings. The film sports a terrific cast full of actors whose faces you recognize, even if you don't know their names. It's deftly directed by Frank Oz of Muppets fame.

Matthew Macfadyen (Spooks/MI-5, Pride & Prejudice) leads this wonderful cast through a series of the most unlikely and yet, laugh out loud funny escapades at his father's funeral. He's joined by Alan Tudyk (Dodgeball, Firefly), Peter Dinklage (Station Agent, Prince Caspian)and a host of other very funny people in a a funeral that goes from bad to worse.

It's fun all the way the through and highly commended for anyone who loves a good misadventure. There is drug-use (sort of) and nudity (kinda) and strong language.

Buy this sleeper today. You won't be sorry.

We saw Matthew MacFadyen in Pride and Prejudice (one of our fav films!!!) and wanted to check out this one as well. Although it is not at all like P&P, we really liked it! We thought it was very funny and can't wait to watch again!

I am not a movie buyer, because once I've seen the movie, I normally don't care to see it again. We rented this movie a few months ago and it was absolutely hysterical! I had to have it! I searched everywhere around here and could not find it. I was thrilled when I found it on Ebay! It was brand new and exactly what I wanted.

This is typical British humor. It is absolutely hysterical and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Definitely sick and very funny!

This is one movie that is a favorite of ours, and its one we can watch over and over again and still laugh as hard as the first time. We try to make it a point of letting our friends see it too and have yet to have anyone not like it.
I stumbled on it by accident at our Video store one day. Being that I love English humor it seemed just my "cup of tea". :-) Funny thing is that no one at the Video store knew a thing about it...well, that changed very quickly after I filled them in on the movie when I returned it to them, as to what a "sleeper" it was and how much I throughly enjoyed it.
With all the blood and gore movies out there these days its so refreshing to run across a really fun movie..one you won't easily forget.

One of those movies that you can watch anytime and enjoy watching it over and over again.
Purchased the dvd after renting the dvd for a local video store on a hunch.

This movie will make you laugh so much, especially if you love English comedies!!! I looked at the cast and knew this would be funny and it really was.

This is splendidly done, comedy ensues through-out the movie, some, but most not politicaly correct, any one with dry english humor will appreciate this!

This was a hysterical movie. We knew that it had won a couple of awards, so we decided to give it a whirl. We laughed through this entire movie. It isn't for children, but any adult would love it. We enjoyed it so much, we had to buy it. "Touch and go!"

So many good things happen. Not a moment goes by without a real guffaw. Excellent cast, Steve Tudyck and Peter Dinklage being totally outstanding. The final scene is the topper! Any weaknesses? There probably were, but I was laughing too hard and so contuously that I didn't see them.

This is a very funny, smart movie. The characters are sharp and witty, the story is hilarious. Some times a bit crude, somewhat overly profane but very humorous.

This is a very funny movie. It will make the viewer laugh out load. We had seen this movie in the cinema and thought that it would be fun to own.

This is the first movie that's made me laughed out loud in quite a while. I thought it was really well done. I'd never heard of this movie until my parents made me watch it... It was so good I had to have my own copy so I could turn friends on to it. Warning you might be sore from laughing, proceed with caution.

I bought this movie after renting it. It was a movie that caught my eye as I was walking by. Definitely worth watching and is a great movie for anyone who loves comedies. Worth the money to own. You won't regret the purchase.

This has to be one of the funniest movies ever. The cast of actors selected to play the parts is perfect. Have already watched it four times. Bound to be a classic.

This film represents classic British comedy at it's best... one part serious mixed with 2 parts dry humor and shaken with a bit of an accent! The only thing I didn't like was the fast(& sometimes manic) pace of the storyline, which I found to be a bit nerve-wracking at times... the main characters were on edge... and so was I.

It is the day of Daniel's (Matthew MacFadyen) father's funeral and everything that can go wrong does go wrong... and I DO mean EVERYTHING... From the funeral parlor delivering the wrong body, to the mistaken use of hallucinogen drugs to calm the guests' nerves, to the blackmailer threatening to reveal unsavory secrets about the deceased's love-life it is all that the stoic and incredibly serious Daniel can do to keep things together for his family and give his father a dignified send off.

I found this movie to be a little different from the norm and again, definitely along the lines of a classic British comedy (think Funny Money, the Monty Python films, or the hit series Absolutely Fabulous). If you are a fan of these types of shows- you will probably LOVE this movie.

If you truly like British humor, then this is the movie for you. From the very beginning to the very end you will be delighted with all the twists and turns. It is extremely well written and has no dull or lingering scenes. Before ending, your sides will be sore from all the laughter. Not one person that I have recommended it to was disappointed.

There is no way to describe the British with their understated hilarity. At some point, I had to put the DVD on hold while got I got tissue to dry my eyes. I think that the title of this film should have been, "Life at a Funeral". I mat just give secongd thought to being cremated.

This is Wonderful and Funny movie. Working for a funeral home on a daily basis caused me to laugh even more due to what could happen at a funeral. Great Fun!!

This movie is original in it's comedy. When I saw it in the theater I was rolling off my seat with laughter & the DVD is great!!!

This movie is hillarious. There is so much humor in this movie it is unreal. I laugh so hard, I come close to crying every time I watch it. MUST SEE TV!

I saw this in the theater in September, and I couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD. The acting is phenomenal, and there are so many very funny scenes that I won't begin to list them. If you like British movies, even if you don't always get British humor (which a lot of Americans don't), this will still have you in stitches because the comedy is universal. Definitely a must see.

The topic of a funeral can be a bummer.

Especially in the opening scene, when it is discovered that the funeral home has delivered the wrong body.

The antics of family surrounding a funeral are just hilarious.

As expected, you find that there is a secret which the deceased is holding, but is uncovered by the survivors.

The characters are marvelous and each bring their nuttiness to the scenes.

I saw this movie on an international flight and thought it would be great to have in my collection and to share with friends.

I wanted this movie and for the price, previously used works great. I am very happy with my purchase.
