Synopsis A lovely but murderous spring follows the quiet, snowbound winter in this addition to the long-running mystery series featuring Hamish Macbeth, a constable in the Scottish Highlands. Lochdubh newcomer Effie Garrard, discovered next to a poisoned bottle of wine, seems to have committed suicide, but Hamish Macbeth thinks otherwise. When he looks into the matter, Hamish finds that her artistic skills as a still-life painter and potter weren’t what they appeared to be, either. Meanwhile, Hamish’s personal life, previously limited to his beloved dog and wild cat, perks up when two ex-girlfriends come to town.
