Deadwood - The Complete Seasons 1 & 2 (DVD, 2006, 6-Disc Set)

I am disgusted.I have tried to contact buyer and have not heard back.Still waiting for Deadwood 1&2 which I never recieved but was billed for almost 2 months ago.At this point I am totally againgst ever buying anything from Ebay.

My husband really loves this series-Says it's one of the best drama series he's ever seen covering this era. Both real and fictional characters are realistic and gritty, making the storyline believable and interesting.

Although the cussing can be excessive with the snydley whiplash of the series. It kept me captivated!

This little Western show REALLY hooks you and pulls you in! The language is a little RAW in the beginning, but you kind of get pass that and just enjoy the show! The Acting is great and Ian McShane is just Brilliant and tho his character is really a low down dirty shame, You cannot help but love him!

i watched season 1 from a friend and decided to get the complete seasons 1-3.
i loved this series. i would recommend this to any western lover

this series is beautiful, the acting is just brilliant, and the writing is sublime. If you are thinking about getting this set, you have probably already been exposed to the language style. It can seem convoluted at first, with flipped syntax and its mix of filthy and formal language. Once you get used to that, and learn to read between the lines and catch the inferences, it is incredibly rewarding and hilarious at times. I feel smarter when i've finished watching this, and the violence is juxtaposed with a tenderness between all the characters. They want to be close to each other, but the world they live in is harsh and unforgiving to demonstrations of raw kindness and tenderness so you see their kindness in rough ways. like i said, its a beautiful series. I forget the term, but i think it's "Small" acting. there is no over the top dinner theatre overacting, its all subtle gestures and small nuanced delivery that makes the characters utterly believable. The packaging is very classy, no liner notes, but the box art is great, understated and something you will want to put on a bookshelf.

I LOVE THIS SHOW

I bought the Deadwood DVD set because I loved it on HBO. There was no uncertainty involved; It is the best! I want to be able to see it again at a later date. One note to buyers. Be careful of foreign copies. They may not be the same quality as ones printed by HBO. This is a great series, but language and situations are pretty raw; they are also very true to what it would have been like in this lawless territory (North Dakota) in the 1880's . Many of the characters are straight from history. Would not suggest for childen under 16; it is very graphic.

They lauguage was out of control. And their reguard for woman stunk. I sear and they made me look like a saint. It took away from the plot of the movie. I live in Montana and rest assured we do know how to read a book.

I purchased it for my boyfriend. We started watching the 2nd series together and wanted to watch it from the begining

I love this show. It made me mad when they only went for 3.25 seasons. This show is not for children. The language in it is hidious, but it is a true depiction of how the west really was. It keeps true to history as it can for being produced for TV. Everyone I know that has ever watched this show has loved it. CAUTION: You will get addicted to this show. Just be ready for it. It is that good! It is a good investment and well worth your money.

The first time I saw Deadwood, I was completely shocked and definitely considered changing the channel. Seemed like the "F"-word was never-ending, and the character of the town was built on dirt, booze, broads, evil, murder, and corruption. I never expected to become a stanch fan of such a down and "dirty" western, but I got caught up in the history and storyline. It's a must-see now, and buying my own DVD's of Season One and Season Two gives me the opportunity to watch past episodes whenever I choose.

The characters in this Western based on historical figures are raw,gritty,nasty and I loved them. Ian Mc Shane ( Al Swearengen)is the sexiest bad man you will hate to love! Not for kids !! I Didn't miss an episode and I knew I would have to own the whole series! In my opinion this was and is the top of the line Western ever made!!
